Welcome to Vice City. Welcome to the 1980s. From the decade of big hair, excess and pastel suits comes a story of one man's rise to the top of the criminal pile.

Although the game was removed from the steam store i decided to write it a review because I like writing reviews. Grand Theft Auto Vice City is the second 3D universe game in the series and although my hours on steam don't seem to indicate it, I have spent countless of hours playing this game. Some of my earliest memories gaming were made on this game. When I was 7 years old I would start the game, have the intro play out, then I'd take the car and go to ocean view hotel. From there instead of doing the missions, I would just drive around the map. Drive and drive and drive, and it never seemed to bother me that I couldn't pass over the bridges. Sometimes i'd feel a little adventurous and do some missions, but i never went further than 4 or 5 missions. Why? Because my dumbass did not know the game had a save feature. Nostalgia aside, it's a great game. I finished it multiple times as I grew up and discovered the save feature. Great music, great vibes, for a game from 2003 it holds up beautifully... I hope I will spend up countless hours on GTA6 like I did with this game, even if it means im stuck on a single island and I can't save.
After how mid GTA 3 was I thought it would continue until maybe SA but more likely 4, but this game was actually really fun. It's an improvement over GTA 3 in every single way, better characters, better writing, better gameplay, better missions. 7/10

Классика. Стиль 80-х. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2816903803

Next to San Andreas, Probably my all time favourite GTA entry. Nailed the 80's theme to the T, Scenary, characters, cars and above all the KICK ASS sound track with some of the all time best 80's songs. If you plan on doing a replay, I highly recommend grabbing the SilentPatch to optimize the game for modern systems: https://github.com/CookiePLMonster/SilentPatch/releases/tag/1.1-BUILD9.2-III
Back when I was around seven, I had my first GTA game as a backseat observer. I’d ask my friend to share it by copying it on my mom’s USB stick. Excited and rather impatient I’d drive back home on what seemed like an endless highway. As I sat by my laptop, flash drive sticking out at its side with Vice City ready to pop out in all its vibrance on the screen, the only thing that’d pop out was an error message. Copying an app wasn’t as easy as dragging a desktop shortcut onto an external drive, apparently. A visit to the friend’s was a biannualish occasion, so asking for the second attempt in the near future wasn’t an option. There went my stay at Vice City. Now, with no nostalgia lens to look through, Vice City feels old and messy to me. If it wasn’t for the six, I can’t say I’d ever finish this one. It’s still a great cultural time capsule of a double (the game being set in the 80s and released in the 00s) that’s interesting to unpack. The ensemble of story and radio characters in neon-lit or sun-balmed streets of Vice make for a fun-enough entertainment, yet the game feels outdated. Nonetheless, it’s a rich exhibit, so to speak, of the past standards of gaming industry. Somehow, it’s up-to-date actually, seeing how some of the modern games still can’t make enemies not spawn right in front of you. Yes, Cyberpunk 2077, you (i think they fixed it, but you know, still funny; cool game btw). In all honesty, I can’t say I enjoyed Vice City in and of itself as much as a what-has-it-been-like kind of indulgence. To this date, it holds a strong presentation of Miami in the 80s, however miniature its essence is; it has its charm. Personally, I find it quite hard to enjoy unless you’re coming in for an experience-in-comparison or nostalgia.
