man the best gta game out there
its GTA what more do you expect
Grand Theft Auto V is one of those games that is genuinely difficult to review because no matter how much I write, I still feel like I’m leaving something out. This is not just one of my favorite games ever made, it is one of the games that completely changed my idea of what a video game could be. Rockstar didn’t simply make an open world game with a big map, they created a world that feels alive, memorable, chaotic, hilarious and incredibly detailed. The craziest part for me personally is that I didn’t even play GTA V when it originally came out. I first had the opportunity to play it in 2020, and at the time I honestly felt like I had arrived extremely late to the party. I thought I had missed the moment, but looking back, I couldn’t have been more wrong. I have completed the game more than 15 times, and I still keep coming back to it. Now that I’m collecting achievements, I decided to get every single one, because apparently finishing GTA V fifteen times wasn’t enough. The story is absolutely incredible. The decision to have three protagonists was one of the best things Rockstar could have done. Michael, Franklin and Trevor are completely different characters, yet they complement each other perfectly. Michael’s story is fascinating, Franklin is the perfect contrast to him, and Trevor is one of the funniest, most terrifying, insane and memorable characters in gaming history. But the amazing character writing doesn’t stop with the three protagonists. The side characters are just as memorable and are a huge part of what makes GTA V’s story so special. Lamar is one of the funniest characters in the entire game, and his friendship with Franklin creates some of the best comedic moments in the story. Lester is another fantastic character, with his intelligence, paranoia and obsession with planning making him incredibly entertaining, while also making him an important part of the heists. Ron, Wade, Dave Norton, Steve Haines, Devin Weston, Jimmy, Tracey, Amanda and many others all add something unique to the story. Even characters with less screen time are memorable because Rockstar gave them distinct personalities and made them feel like actual people rather than simple mission characters. And then there is the humor. GTA V has some of the best jokes and funniest moments I have ever experienced in a game. The humor is everywhere, from missions and conversations to radio stations, advertisements and random events. Rockstar constantly makes fun of modern society, celebrities, social media, corporations and American culture, and somehow the jokes still work after all these years. Honestly, I don’t think even GTA VI will have exactly this kind of humor or a cast this memorable. The world itself is another masterpiece. Los Santos and Blaine County are still some of the best open world environments I have ever explored. The city, countryside, mountains, desert and beaches all have their own atmosphere, and there is an incredible amount of detail everywhere. You can spend hours simply driving around and still find something you didn’t notice before. The atmosphere is fantastic, especially when driving through Los Santos at night with the radio playing. Speaking of the radio, GTA V has some of the best radio stations in gaming, with amazing music, talk shows and hilarious advertisements that make simply driving around entertaining. The driving, shooting, flying and overall gameplay are also extremely satisfying, and the huge variety of vehicles makes the world feel like a massive playground. GTA V gives you freedom to approach the game however you want, whether you are following the story, exploring the world, customizing cars, racing or simply causing chaos. Technically, the game was also incredible for its time. The graphics, animations, physics, voice acting, sound design and overall presentation were years ahead of what many other games were doing. And then there is GTA Online. GTA Online became something much bigger than anyone could have predicted and is genuinely one of the greatest and most active multiplayer experiences in gaming. Heists, races, deathmatches, businesses, missions, free roam and countless updates have kept it alive for more than a decade. I have so many memories from GTA Online that I know I will remember forever, especially those sessions with friends that somehow lasted until 3 AM. Doing heists, failing missions, racing each other, playing deathmatches, messing around in free roam, stealing cars, escaping the police and doing completely stupid things together are some of my favorite gaming memories. The fact that people are still regularly playing GTA Online after all these years is incredible. Of course, my decision to collect every achievement eventually led me to the Doomsday Heist, specifically the Masterminds challenges. I have never been more frustrated by a video game achievement in my life. The heist is already difficult, but the Masterminds challenges take it to another level. One mistake can destroy hours of progress, and sometimes you can lose everything because of bugs, glitches or the game simply deciding not to cooperate. I lost progress multiple times even when I hadn’t actually done anything wrong, failed near the end more times than I want to admit, and had to start everything again. At one point I even took a break from the heist and eventually gave up for a while. But I came back and finally completed it. Getting those achievements after everything I went through was incredibly satisfying, and even the frustration has become part of my memories of GTA V. That is what makes this game so special. GTA V creates memories. It is the story you replay years later, the characters you remember, the jokes you still quote, the songs you associate with certain moments and the countless ridiculous things that happen when you play with friends. I also think GTA V is one of the clearest examples of a game that genuinely moved the boundaries of gaming forward. Its influence is enormous. Even today, when a new open world game comes out, people immediately compare it to GTA V. How big is the map? How alive is the world? How good are the NPCs? How much freedom does the player have? How good is the driving? How much content is there? When a game becomes the standard that other games are compared against for more than a decade, you know it achieved something extraordinary. GTA V pushed open world design, storytelling, character writing, humor, technical presentation and multiplayer longevity to another level. I regret not playing it earlier. When I first played it in 2020, I thought I had missed my chance to experience it at the right time, but now I realize there is no wrong time to play GTA V. I have completed the story more than 15 times, spent countless hours in GTA Online, collected achievements, laughed at the story, gotten frustrated at Online and nearly lost my mind because of the Doomsday Masterminds challenges. And somehow, I still love this game. I don’t know whether GTA VI will surpass GTA V for me, but I know that GTA V has something extremely difficult to recreate: unforgettable characters, incredible humor, an amazing story, a ridiculously detailed open world, an enormous amount of content and a multiplayer mode that remained relevant for more than a decade. GTA V is a perfect game in every aspect. It is one of those rare games that becomes more than just a game and becomes a part of your gaming history. For me, GTA V will always be one of those games I can return to years from now, start a new save, hear the opening music, see Los Santos again and immediately feel at home. One of the greatest games ever made, one of the most influential games ever made, one of the funniest games ever made, one of the most memorable casts in gaming, one of the best open worlds ever created and one of the best multiplayer experiences ever made. After more than a decade, people are STILL playing it. That is GTA V 10/10 Absolutely legendary.
Dear Rockstar, We kindly request that you add Turkish language support to GTA 6. The Turkish player base is huge, and it's impossible for you not to see this. You've probably encountered this at least once before. We know these kinds of things are costly, but everyone knows that a large game company like yours can handle this and that you would definitely benefit from it. For years, you've had many games, and you've gained a huge Turkish player base, and this group continues to grow. No one can understand why you persistently ignore this. From here, I and other Turkish players are appealing to the development team and managers: please add Turkish language support.
