Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Using the downgrader on GitHub and allowing it to apply the basic mods it provides gives you the perfect way to experience this game. Making sure all the content from the console versions are on PC, plus changing the colors to the PS2 version is a dream come true. The game stands the test of time, and if you go a little bit further you can even polish up a couple of other things to make this game the true "definitive edition" it should have been without losing the original art direction. 10/10 game, feels miles better than GTA V could ever hope to. Even though the map is much smaller, the amount of detail and interactive locations makes this game feel way bigger. I can't gush about it enough, really.

Back in the olden games when games were still a bit janky (controls) & difficult (no intra-mission saves). On piece of advice to beat the final quest: FIREPROOF buff is essential. Complete those 12 Firefighter side-missions before you get there (also did the Paramedic & Vigilante side-quests).
