Hidden Gem in Rogue-Like Genre!" "Gordian Quest is hands down one of the best rogue-like games I've ever played, and it's a shame that it doesn't get the recognition it truly deserves. The game is a hidden gem with an insane amount of content that kept me hooked for hours on end. The depth of gameplay and the strategic elements make every run unique and challenging. The developers have clearly put a lot of effort into creating a rich and engaging experience. The variety of content is staggering, providing a refreshing take on the rogue-like genre. What sets Gordian Quest apart is not just its gameplay mechanics but also the attention to detail in its design. The visuals are appealing, and the soundtrack enhances the overall immersive experience. It's clear that the developers poured their passion into this project. If you're a fan of rogue-like games and haven't tried Gordian Quest yet, you're missing out on a true masterpiece. Give it a shot, and you'll likely find yourself pleasantly surprised by the depth and excitement it offers. Highly recommended!"

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I put about 5 hours into Gordian Quest back in early access and walked away, reasonably satisfied with what I saw and perfectly willing to let the game be until it reaches 1.0 and maybe accrues some further updates. Having revisited the game now, however, I'm left scratching my head, because the painfully mediocre and bothersome experience I got to witness doesn't line up with memories of my early access foray into Gordian Quest. I barely managed to make myself finish the first act, and I have zero desire to press on. I feel that the game is utterly outclassed by its competition, titles that manage to combine tactical combat with deck building in far more satisfying ways (Trials of Fire and Fights in Tight Spaces come to mind). While fairly good-looking and functional, Gordian Quest offers nothing that'd make it if not special then at least properly enjoyable. The game's key and most fundamental issue is the way deck building is tied to levelling up. So, the opportunities to trim and expand your party members' decks are there, but the pace of acquiring them is far too slow. Card upgrades are also tied to this context. I strongly suspect that decoupling all the card-related business from levelling, thus letting it be all about stat boosts and perks, would've done the game quite a favour. ...moreover, if you level up and decide you want a new card, you'll only get a chance to draw one from a random set of cards. Yes, this is standard operating procedure when it comes to deck builders, but sticking with it while tying card acquisition to levelling up strikes me as a questionable move, putting it mildly. The campaign structure and related mechanics? No joy to be found here in my experience. Everything feels superfluous and unnecessary; I may have to admit that the exploration mini-game has managed to rub me the right way, but that's a minor exception at best. There's a story somewhere in there, but everything about the setting, the characters, and the plot is so enormously bland that paying attention to the whole thing quickly becomes an undesirable proposition. I'm all for a good narrative, but what's here is barely able to conjure a decent backdrop. Itemization may well be the only aspect of the game that's close to being respectable, but it's not exactly able to carry the game by itself. I rarely bother with penning negative reviews, preferring not to dwell on the things that aren't up to snuff, but here we are. If you are looking Gordian Quest's way, chances are your time and attention are better spent elsewhere.
Good game in many ways, unfortunately they added a d20 mechanic and made it important enough to ruin the game.
excellent deck builder game, great strategies with soo many different build options, very fun for the genre. huge replayability between the choice of characters with an added option of 1 of 3 different decks to choose from to even make them more of a niche' build. good branching storyline. can see many many hours of my life sunk into this. def recommend.
First ~5 hours of the campaign were absolutely amazing, I was totally engrossed with new mechanics every half an hour or so, new discoveries and quite a solid gameplay. Unfortunately after that is goes downhill: - first it suddenly spices in difficulty towards the end of the [Act I] and it will continue to do so in the future - then it says "horay, you win, now [Act II]" which is essentially the same with just one extra mechanic - then there is [Act III] repeating the same pattern. Acts aren't fast so it becomes way-to-over-the-board grindy and stale - ??? (I still on the [Act III] so don't know if the [Act IV] will be another repeat or what. There are also other game modes. Still haven't tried them yet cause wanna end the campaign first.) The art of "know then to end your game" was failed spectacularly. I believe it should have ended after [Act I] or maybe make it longer but cram into it all other mechanics from [Act II] and [Act III]. Or maybe make Acts just a separate maps where you can choose on which map play your campaign from the get go with only singuler Act in it. Yeah, I criticized the game, but this is still a positive review just because first 5 hours were extremly good and I don't regret buying the game at all.
Balance in this game is all over the place. Most of the fights are repetitive and meaningless, with all enemies dying before they can even act once. Then, suddenly, you get the impossible fight where you receive half your max health damage any time you attack or try to move, losing the whole party in 1 round. Campaign started interesting but drag on waaaay too much. At the start of the third act I was bored to death.
That is a game clearly made out of love and the devs deserve a huge praise for it. For a shy 20$, that game will give you a lot of content... there is so much content and mechanics, that you will probably not enjoy them as we should. The fights are great and the story is really huge (4 acts if I'm right). You can customize progression of heroes, gears and cards without seeing an end to it. While the game has so many great aspects, I could not finish the game, and I don't think I will. The major flaw in the game design is that progression is way too slow and it reminds me of Urtuk: The Desolation. Both game requires to grind fights, but at least Gordian Quest has 3 times the mechanics of Urtuk, and it delivers a pretty slick UI for a really complex system. I don't think that I will play this game again, but I am certainly keeping a eye close to this company and their future projects.
