Saw this from the HOTS subReddit and I came, I played, I enjoyed. Def an interesting take on MOBAs. Reccommend!
GGG. Bought the game after playing it with a friend over steam remote. instantly hooked. After a few rounds of getting recked by him, I think i started understanding some strategy, and damn i’m impressed… the builds + moba like elements go DEEP. Will be playing for a long, long time.
Enjoyable game, plays pretty nicely, art and music are pretty cool, especially that DnB track on the Single Lane map. At first, I didn't really feel a good impression of the game, running around solo, what with the slow movespeed and stuff (to be expected), but after playing it with a bud, games got real competitive and silly, real fast, especially when building for certain things like cheesy macro plays [like bumrushing core with Level 2 Blocks and Applesauce] or hyper aggressive duelist kits. Can't wait to see what new things come of this project in the future, this makes a pretty fun weekly gamenight thing! I do have a few points of contention (like the Shops not being "menu" based [objectively better time navigating them when you have mobility tools], not being able to customize certain aspects like respawn times, shop prices, or choosing what items appear in the overall card pool), but these don't really affect the fun of core gameplay or could be iterated upon or "semi-enforced" with house rules.
Goo Goo Grapplers is a delightful little game that’s perfect for some friendly competition. If you're looking for a quick, fun game to play with a friend, Goo Goo Grapplers is a great choice.
Just released! Baby-themed MOBA, Goo Goo Grapplers. Needs a key art upgrade - the game itself looks great and is well-designed and fun. Would love a few more levels but what's there are well-designed with interactive hotspots. Fast pace game, love the weapons. Goo Goo Grapplers is a new MOBA with a fun baby theme. The weapons (RC car, rattle, milk shots, bouncing balls, etc.) are delightful - and upgradeable. Levels well designed with interactive components. I'm gooing all over the place
I'm not that big of a MOBA guy, but this was so fun. Took me a match or two to get the rhythm of it, but it was pretty easy once I got the hang of it. I feel like this works for people like me, but I also see how deep you can go, getting into specialized builds and getting really good depending on how much of a nerd you are. Either way, nerd or not, I thoroughly enjoyed getting goo on my friends.
May the labbing commence.
Their youtube short got me hooked, when I saw you could delete your opponent by combo-ing a tether hook into a stun, into a shotgun blast. This game somehow combines the epic feelings of "zero to death"ing your friends like in a 1v1 fighter, with the big-brain feeling of outsmarting them in macro play. I can choose my abilities and upgrades to avoid fights and go for their towers, or the complete opposite... hunting my friend down non-stop (and win either way). I love labbing combos. I love baiting and tactically retreating. I love making investments that pay off big in the late game. Recommend for anyone who likes those too, and for anyone who has friends. Steam Remote works great! GGGLHF
It's hard to play Goo Goo Grapplers and not have a smile on your face. My favorite games are ones that bring inventiveness and verve to an otherwise familiar genre, which GGG does on all accounts. The graphics, the weaponry, the soundtrack... the devs have blended typical MOBA fun with humor and creativity, which is all the more impressive considering this is BG’s first game (as I write this, it's the first release of the game, too). The game is well-paced. Players seeking a quicker game can prioritize upgrading damage output and character speed. Players can also (which I recommend) take advantage of the whole map and all the ability offerings, e.g., collecting toy parts, capturing stuffed elephants, and experimenting with Specials. The game does not play well without controllers. I highly recommend playing with controllers. I’d like to see BG add more game modes and add online play. Until then, entire kingdoms (pillow forts) will continue to fall to me and mine (baby and crawler army). Overall, super fun game. I've logged ~7 hours. Highly recommend. Excited for the next BG release.
