About
Randomized course layout for each session. Golfing in Aether accomplishes this through having each of the holes being its own independent floating island. There are currently 80 holes excluding variations in the game. The game will choose these at random from a pool at the start of a session and procedurally create the overall course layout.
Get-together with friends in sessions supporting up to 16 players online. Local multiplayer allows you to have either 4 players, each with their own controller, or have up to 8 when taking in turns using a shared input pass-the-controller mode. You can take any additional local players into online sessions with you.
Freedom to choose different modes such as playing together in real time (local players use split screen) or taking it in turns via hotseat. Online sessions also support joining as a spectator.
Cross-platform multiplayer lets you play with your Steam friends on both Windows, Linux, and mac OS, as well as with non-Steam players on other platforms, including current-gen consoles.
Compete against ghosts in practice mode for the top spot in an individual level with both global and friends only leaderboards.
Replay your previous sessions via the session replays feature. This allows you to spectate previous sessions you've played with options such as being able to see from another players perspective, use free camera, and the ability manipulate playback rate.
Customize through a range of color-pickable designs for your golf ball as well as various accessories such as hats. Five ball designs are available from the start with others being unlocked as you earn XP through playing and level up.
Accessible with full gamepad support through the inclusion of an on-screen keyboard and ability to create local player profiles for saving any customizations, player names or gamepad settings.

The gameplay is good, the game runs very smoothly. Now the game gives light and carefree vibes - of course that's what golf usually is. Split Screen is great, and a golf game like this is needed on PC. The game may still be missing some kind of action effect. (Powerups/map editing during game/something cool party stuff) There is many holes already, but if this is going to get big, players need to be able to create their own maps - like for example in the game Fore Score or Golf with your Friends. At least there will be plenty of updates now! It's promising game, and for this price totally recommended!
**** NOTE: This review was this games FIRST STEAM REVIEW! **** A very competent miniature golf game with tons of options and settings to customize your game to your hearts content! While this game lacks the depth of the more popular "Golf With Your Friends" title here on Steam, it is a very good... and more realistic looking golf game made with the Unreal engine. It's a lot of fun and I play though the game solo on its launch day in this video just to take a look at its overall quality and options: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDnehN1XTmU&t=967s The developer stated there are 36 different holes in the game here at launch and stated that more are on the way, the first additional holes comes next month in October. After my first play solo, I believe that right now this game might already be the 2nd best miniature golf game that you can play online with friends only coming in behind the double-the-price "Golf With Your Friends". For fans of that game, this game should be a very nice option just to change things up a bit and get some different holes and a little different physics than you're use to. I like this one a lot, and from the sounds of it, this one is only going to get better and more depth as time goes on and more people purchase, play, and support it! MY LAUNCH DAY FIRST IMPRESSIONS SCORE: A solid 8 out of 10 (and likely to go higher as more holes and content is added as more updates come in from this indie developer) ...Solid purchase and well worth the asking price! If you love miniature golf games and love playing with friends, this should be an easy decision to add to your Steam library!
Jueguito de minigolf bastante solido, buenos gráficos, varios modos, online, splitscreen, leaderboards y bastante barato. EDIT: Menciono por si acaso, se puede invitar a amigos que no tengan el juego si se bajan la demo, copado.
nice beautiful game (not as crapy as other mini golf game available). lots of fun with my girlfriend playing together on split screen with 2 controllers, played a lot the demo before release. So a must buy for us. Released version seems as good as the demo. so well spent money ;-)
I like it. Reminds me of the old nabisco mini putt flash game. Split screen is awesome with my wife. Been playing on the steam deck too, works good.
Enjoying just practicing the holes, looking for ways to get hole-in-ones. VETRON! What kind of hax you using to get those scores? I get holes in one in less than 5 sec and im still not breaking 800. What's the secret?
I bought Golfing in Aether (GiA) as it reminded me of those old Vertigolf flash games that I was strangely fond of as a kid. I'm glad I did; I enjoyed it and I got to relive those past memories in a way. I hope this game gains more traction as it is a decent golf game and the devs are still adding content. Disclaimer: I played solo so I can't comment on the multiplayer but it looks easy to set up. Nostalgia goggles aside, how does GiA hold up on its own and to other golf games on Steam? I'd say good enough. There's a surprising amount of individual holes (60) and 9 get randomly selected per mode you play, meaning you won't play the same selection twice which I really like. The game's atmosphere is relaxing, the aesthetics of the levels themselves are beautiful, and I like the XP and ranking systems they implemented to encourage replayability. Leaderboards per hole per difficulty are cool too. The levels themselves aren't bad either, but overall a lot felt simple and some themes tended to repeat (e.g. there's 5 holes to pick from and one gives you the hole in one!). A couple of misspellings (e.g. tripple instead of triple) and a strange but humorous glitch where the UI to shoot will stay on the ball, but this only happened once and didn't adversely impact gameplay. GiA is one of the more relaxing golf games I've played and is one I'll definitely pick up and play more often, especially if the devs expand on the quantity and complexity of the holes made. [EDIT] Thank you to the dev for the fast and awesome response! Can't wait to see what you put out for the future of this game :)
charming little Golfgame. Always relaxing to play. Now as I have play other Golf games beside this one I clearly prefer this one here. I hope it gets more attention soon. I will nonimate this game for the Steam awards! (Idk what to write more lol)
This is the worst golfing game here on Steam. All the other ones are better. Golf with friends being the best. Dont bother with this one. - Levels are simple and boring. - Animations take the longest time, you watch the ball for dozens of seconds doing nothing before going through a tube. - Golf mechanics are bad and not accurate. This is the worst implementation of golf ever. You have no idea how much you need to increase the power and there is a second slider for some reason? + Co op works well. + Aesthetics are clear and the game runs well.
Superb mini-golf / crazy golf game. Pretty graphics, beautifully designed holes, and lots of them. A decent number of holes to try out in the free demo; I played that for about 30 minutes then immediately bought the full game. Very affordable price, too.
