It's complicated, very complicated. It's... okayish, it has story, dwarves, different skills, different enemies and an acceptable variety of map mechanics. All in all, it can be entertaining. The issue is that, despite being "finished" with a definitive edition, it is VERY clunky and slow, the movement is not fluid at all, and has problems of collisions with walls and enemies. Also, as an ARPG, it's very simple and repetitive, without much variety in combat (and with a lot of recharge time for the skills, you're left spaming basic attacks). I didn't have a bad time playing it, but I don't have much incentive to continue. Others will probably like it.
If it wasn't early access I would give it a poor review but I think with a lot of work this will be cool. Not being able to hold a button to stand still and attack or check key bindings are big issues for me. I sort of end up "skating" around during combat which makes it frustrating and janky rather than fun. The assets look really cool and having an axe throwing button is fun.
This game is bad. How bad well, really bad. But first the good things about the game. 1. It has dwarves. 2. It is an action rpg. 3. You get to kill stuff in it. 4. The story is nice. For what it is. The bad news. 1. Bugs, How many bugs? Well not the cool kind that you can bash with an hammer. a. Bug when fighting monsters the dwarf slides around. b. Bug where the game will not go fill screen at the highest resolution setting. c. Those things in act 2 are not bugs. They are, well, who cares. d. Getting stuck in a bridge that is really a wall. 2. The game looks like it was made in 2003 or even the 1990's. Yet it was made in 2021? 3. Why is there books in Spanish when the game is in English mode? 3. Dwarves do not use swords. a. That was for personal reasons. Neutral 1. Pushing a cart around to stay in the light is fun for the first few times. I do not want a game of this poor in quality. neither should anyone else. I am asking for a refund. Hopefully Ardeal Studio will see the errors of their ways and fix the problems.
Challenging RPG with a shady environment worthy of dungeon, with a short but cool story that you discover while advancing on your quest to destroy the darkness. Large skill tree so you can combine many options to adapt to your gameplay and fluid motions for attacks and dodge that will put your ability to the test. Also the fact that you can rotate the camera freely is cool for not getting stuck not seeing the path on the map.
This is one where the demo tricked me. I rather enjoyed the demo, even though it was curiously short. I found out however after purchasing the early access version that this game is not for me after all. This is because I found it to be a highly repetitive hack and slash with frustrating gameplay. There are no difficulty settings in this game and health potions are not plentiful by any means. Combat is also very sluggish and unresponsive, with having to click the mouse incessantly while it seems like half of those clicks actually connect with an attack. Enemies also stand around waiting for you to approach them then they repeatedly shoot you with projectiles, cast spells that slow you down, and swarm you in certain areas. I found myself constantly repeating the same battles over and over again. You also can only save in certain areas. You also cannot remap the controls, there is no controller support, the mini-map often does not show where to go, voice acting is obviously computer generated, and levels all seemed the same. I quit playing during this awful section where the light is supposed to protect you. However, I was still getting killed repeatedly so I gave up. I would much rather play Diablo 4.
There is a reason this game is on sale for such a low price--save your dollar, put it toward another game. My less than 1 hour of playing was greatly challenged by no overall map, odd saving points and general tediousness. I'm sure that this game was a hit when first released. I am uninstalling it and won't loose sleep over my action.
Its a very fun and enjoyable game!! Like every other rpg outthere you can get lost track of time by only discovering the map and fighting every monster that appears. Very nice dedication to the levels and the story and with frequent updates!
A fast paced hack and slash with beautiful levels and a creepy atmosphere that left me wanting more. Will look forward to full release!
One of the worst made games I have ever played. The hardest parts of the game are the first boss and the two entire levels where the game runs at 2FPS 10/10 would stream again.
