Create your favourite class and race combination with unique attributes and skills for every single one! All races feature a unique racial trait, and all classes have their own skillset to aid them in their conquest to take down some legit lunkers.
And the cast of 'characters' would not be complete without the fish themselves. Work your way up from tadpoles to trout to terrifying abominations...

Level up, grow your stats, catch legendary fish, move through natural biomes, steal from the travelling merchant, equip an exotic imbued fishing rod. It's all here! The numerous vectors have your hero grow and experience the life of an angler. Did you leave them alone to do their for for a week? A month? Catch up on their progress by checking out their journal and see their haul of new attributes, skills and loot.

460 heroes to choose from means that just as many friends could be waiting for you! Bump into fellow anglers along the way and swap tall tail tales and fishing puns. Grow your relationship with your friends and discover who is a true friend, and who is a rival!

Track your progress over time with a journal of all the fish you've caught and all the friend's you met along the way. Check on your trophy hauls, your favourite meal, how much gold you're making with the local merchants. You can monitor many forms of evolution of your chosen hero!

Many idle games advertise themselves as idle, but get gated or stuck if you don't consistently interact with them, or have degenerate gameplay loops that incentivize silly behaviour or are flooded with microtransactions. Gods of Angling aims to be a truly idle game that can run (at very low system resource utilization!) in the background as a Tamagotchi-like experience while you do anything you like. The player can engage with the game how and when they like and drive autonomous behaviours through policies and settings. In keeping with this vision of providing a user-friendly experience, your character will even sleep when you sleep!

Inspired by the class SNES game of my namesake, the user interface colour theme is highly customizable to provide an experience that suits your individual needs whether preference or accessibility. Change your theme in a moment, whenever you like improve your experience. Delicious themes are available beyond the default "Oreo" theme. Why not give Blackberry, Coconut or Mint a try? There are many tasty options to choose from to customize your experience and visual preferences.

Gods of Angling is free! It is a free game, and it will never contain aggressive or pay-two-win microtransaction mechanics. The Founders Edition DLC provides access to additional hero races & classes and themes. The DLC is optional, and never in-your-face or unfair. This is a promise!

Lazy AI slop made by some lone dude pretending to be a game developer. Everything from the music to the text to the imagery is AI generated, not an ounce of effort went into anything here, except maybe the attempt to get people to pay $4 for literal garbage. It "..utilizes extremely low system resources." because it's an empty experience with nothing to offer, you'd find more interesting content opening MS Paint, and it would even be hand made! Unlike this slop. [EDIT] The "developer" gets his friends and family to leave positive reviews to falsify ratings.
finally a good game my PC can run

I think the sleep meter is fine, but the real world hours it locks to, kinda sucks. If You try to make a new character after 1am and before whatever time later in the morning, your character is forced to sleep. The developer needs to think about the fact that people have different schedules. And forcing sleep when creating a new character if it falls within that time, is just bad design. Just have the character sleep when the sleep meter is drained? The ghoul racial trait can just have the sleep take less time. All that being said, I actually enjoy the game. It's basic, and could use a little more interactivity, but otherwise, it's exactly what I expected. Gonna give this a positive rating because I like the direction it's heading.
Well. Not entirely sure what to do with this one. Without any tutorial it'ss hard to say if my experience is intended or not. But since it happened on all the characters I made I'll have to assume it's an intended mechanic. So I make a character, everything is fine for a few seconds, then my sleep meter drains fully and my character collapses. After which nothing else happens. That's the whole thing. I tried clicking around but found nothing I could click to fix this. I imagine it can be a pretty chill game, and considering the base game is free I don't see any reasoon not to recommend it. And if either the game gets fixed with the exhaustion issue, or I figure out whatever I might be doing wrong I can imagine spending more time on it.
Gods of Angling is an idle RPG‑style fishing game and its biggest twist is that it actually treats itself like an RPG. Instead of simply casting a line, you begin by choosing a class and race, and your character’s stats directly influence how well you perform various abilities and tasks. You wander through the world, encounter aquatic creatures and automatically enter combat. Winning a fight means you “catch” the creature; losing simply sends your character drifting onward. Since the gameplay is fully automated, your active involvement is limited to managing equipment, selecting spells and abilities, handling codex events and buying items from merchants. Everything else plays out on its own. The game’s weaknesses are hard to ignore. There is no tutorial, no onboarding and no meaningful explanation of how anything works. The game offers no tips, no guidance and no exposition to help players understand its systems. Instead, you’re bombarded with repetitive text logs that quickly become noise. Much of the writing is filler—lines like “You walk” or “You miss” appear so frequently that reading them becomes pointless. Thankfully, the game is pretty easy and simple and the gameplay is automatically operated.
Progress Quest but fishing for all y'all millennials that remember booting that up on the high school PCs. A little more interaction, though. You can set skills, rotation, pets, cook food and buffs, buy from a merchant, equip gear and sets with a Diablo-lite loot system, classes and races do actually matter. Surprisingly deep if you look at the math. There are mini games that increase your race rep, unlocks, and other systems in the game that gradually, slowly unlock over time. I'm in the 40 level range after about 7 days of leaving the game open. I like waking up to see what new shiny loot I got. For a free background idle game, can you really complain?
Gods of Angling, "Tamagotchi benzeri" bir Boşta Balık Tutma RPG'sidir! 180 benzersiz seçenekten birini kullanarak kahramanınızı yaratın ve onun bir çaylaktan Tanrı'ya yükselip yükselemeyeceğini görün.
An idler's game with an Interesting concept. I originally did not recommend it, stating it needed more time to bake. Well, with the past few updates, I have come around to really like it. "Tamagotchi-like" is accurate. It does not require player interaction, but there are a few things you can do like: setting up equipment, spells, abilities, play codex events and and buy from merchants. Your character is your pet that you can cater to, and watch with growing interest. I really like the soundtrack. If you are curious as I was, follow the patch notes. This one is worth keeping an eye on.
I just wanted a little idle auto-battler game for my second screen while working, and this fits perfectly. You just build your character and let them do their thing in the background. Character creation offers a wide range of species and classes. There is a lot to experiment with, which I really like. There are also plenty of deep in-game statistics and logs to check your standing, as well as a daily competition to measure yourself against others. Your active gameplay is mostly about setting skills, manage your inventory/equipment and doing some minor minigames. Also, since there is no offline progression, you have to leave the window running in the background to make progress. It's free and it’s a great background companion, exactly what I was looking for.
