About
Slip, fall, and plunge—
just climb back up again.
Go Up Frog is a 2D precision platformer focused entirely on climbing upward.
A single small mistake can send you tumbling down, but the challenge never ends.
Only your control, focus, and patience
can guide this tiny frog to greater heights.
In Go Up Frog, you must overcome demanding sections
using jumps, dashes, and precise movement.
One small mistake can drop you far below.
But in this game, there is no such thing as the end.
The more you fall,
the more you climb again.

Friendly developer, attractive character but 'repulsive' game play literally game pushes me away

Go Up, Frog is a short but sadistic precision platformer where you play as the titular frog on a vague journey upwards through several different biomes. It falls under the foddian-style rage climber subgenre by punishing the player with lost progress via gravity & knockback rather than death & respawn mechanics. However, unlike some of its inspirations, there is no threat of losing all your progress, as the campaign is divided into a series of rooms that act as individual levels. Although the game could use some refinement in its presentation and accessibility, it does succeed in the elements that matter most, those being character movement, level design, art style, and overall difficulty. I do have a list of technical nitpicks, but I still recommend the game for those craving a smaller platforming challenge. Criticisms: - There is no way to remap your controls. - There is no story, dialogue, or name for the frog. I think all good foddians should at least establish a motivation for the player character. - The background music is good, and there is a variety of tracks, but they tend to start and stop abruptly, with awkwardly long intervals of silence between the tracks. - Upon reaching the ending screen, you need to quit to menu manually via the pause menu. You also can't continue your current playthrough after reaching the end.
... you... you left the debug ability to fly infinitely... in the game? getting hit causes bugs/improper animation state. there are bugs that seem like challenge rewards/collectibles, but you can't collect them? no remap/controls screen? why.... did you ship it like this? it looks like it could be a charming game too. T_T have someone playtest your games in the future

This game is a true hidden gem. The artstyle, music, level design and the gameplay itself is amazing, especially for a student project. For this price, you cannot go wrong - this is one of the rare occasions that I wished the game was more expensive, because the value is insane and this dev deserves the money. It also works great on Steam Deck, but if you have 2 accounts on one device then the progression and saves are the same for both. Unfortunate as now I have to finish the game before the other person can play. Also I think the game difficulty is overall fine, but the snow level is too hard and too frustrating because of ice making the movement too unpredictable and the one-square clouds being too tight. Overall great game, just needs some balancing of difficulty imho
In the Cat Stage, after passing the first cat and reaching the climbing section, I got hit by spikes and bounced on a mushroom, which caused me to get stuck in an infinite stun. Could you please help fix this?
