About
Unleash your inner ass-kicking menace in this unique “First-Person Booter”. Step into the boot of Glum, the crude, short-tempered goblin, and kick, cuss and fight your way through a vibrant and physics-based world that - unlike your average Sunday morning cartoon - is not suited for sticky children.
GLUM is a game where one man’s tragedy is another man’s comedy.
Our physics-based combat system ensures that every enemy you take down reacts dynamically, meaning glorious, over-the-top ragdoll chaos. Smash, launch, and obliterate foes in ways that are as satisfying as they are hilarious.

Earn style points for creative kills! Whether you’re flinging explosive barrels and magical potions at your enemies, or getting up close and personal, the menace actions and points amplifies flair for destruction and creative sadism! Hone your skills in the wave-based combat Arena Mode!
GLUM’s crude humor is scattered around the environments of the game, making those hidden spots and cheeky collectables worth every moment of exploring.
All you need to know is that there has been a coup and Glum’s overlord, Semperius, has been mysteriously captured by rivaling overlords. Although Glum has lived his sorry excuse of a life being the underling of one particularly mean Overlord, the Overlord’s kidnapping forces Glum to dust off an old magical boot and unleash his main character energy in his search for vengeance (and the return of a stable income).

The game had potential, but the developers halted development indefinetly due to not reaching their sales targets for EA; besides Steam explicitly stating that developers should not use EA to fund development. Leaving a negative review for visibility so potentially interested players are not mislead.
abandonware
The game is no longer being updated. They only released one level, a roadmap that they arent following through on, and have shifted all resources while having the game still up to purchase having it still listed as "early aceess." Dont go out of your way to purchase this if you think you aren't going to get a game with further maitnence. They've already announced they are taking their funds from this game and putting it into other projects. Using crowdfunding with Early access games is not allowed/endorsed through the Early Access program.
Abandoned after just 4 months of early access. Like just wow, 4 months.... even more so a shame considering the EA launch was basically just a slightly revamped version of the demo from last year with the tutorial split off and slightly extended into its own level. otherwise just the 1 "biome" as they call it and yet we bought it anyway believing promises of more content in the summer and fall just to get nothing. as you can imagine the next game CinderCat Games release is getting put on the ignore list as sorry, i'm not just going to blindly trust them again so easily regardless of being transparent or not about this game.
The game itself is fun and decent :) I am writing this for a different reason though! AS IT STAND RIGHT NOW THIS IS AN UNFINISHED EARLY ACCESS GAME THAT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED AS OF SEPTEMBER 26TH 2025 DUE TO A SHORTAGE IN FUNDING ( ro so it's claimed ) THERE IS NO INTEND OR EFFORT BEING MADE TO CHANGE THIS AND INSTEAD RESOURCES ARE BEING DEFFERED TO A DIFFERENT PROJECT THIS GAME WILL AS IT IS NOW FOREVER BE NO MORE THEN A DEFUNCT DEMO FOR WHAT THIS GAME COULD HAVE BEEN ! IF YOU STILL WANT TO BUY THIS AND GIVE IT A SHOT, EXPECT TO GET NO MORE THEN EXACTLY THAT! note that i'm writing this hours after they gave notice and i have not given them the chance to propperly update their storepage to clarify this in plain text and view for anyone willing ot purchase. I am currently going to act under the impression that they won't and are only going to use the obsucre forum post to use as a "wash my hands in innoncence means", as such i write this negative to clarify what this game currently is if they do write a statement of their own, i'll take this one down :) FUN GAME BUT YOU'LL NEVER SEE IT FINISHED IN IT'S CURRENT REALITY!!
Unfinished. Please pull it out of early access, so people won't assume more content is coming.
Tells us they will stop updating the game in September 2025 as it didn't sell well, even posting a road map in June 2025 and then going radio silent for 3 months. Asks us to keep an eye on their next project. How about no.
i would make more than a demo's worth of content before going into EA, personally. one level that you can finish in about 40 minutes if you don't want to wander around doing every single collectible. which i don't want to do, because this isn't a good collectathon. the humor is fine, but that's about all it has going for it.
I played it in danish, since I rarely have the option to choose my native language, so I might misname some things from the game, and also no spoilers in this review.

Introduction
For a game just about kicking the ♥♥♥♥ out of things, it is done surprisingly well, I am actually impressed with how smooth the gameplay is. While playing through the tutorial or bootcamp, it kept surprising me with how much this little furry guy can do with just his right foot. It is also a fun combination of genres, it looks and feels a bit like a game for kids but with profanity and “hard” movement challenges that definitely aren’t meant for children to complete. I am really looking forward to seeing what speedrunners can do with this game in the future.
The movement
So like I briefly mentioned, this game has nice movement and beside kicking enemies, movement is the only other important thing in this game. All the basic movement like jumping, sliding and dashing, to the more advanced moves like the 'quake-like' rocket jumping by charge kicking the walls, feel super smooth and really allow for fun and fast movement through the game, and when combined with all the combat mechanics it melts together really well.
The combat
Even though all of the combat is just done with your right foot, it feels like you have lots of choices when attacking. You can light kick, combo kick, charge kick, jump kick, stomp kick, kick objects as projectiles, shoot off your boot as a boomerang and of course all of these different types of kicking can be combined to create a single foot killing machine. There is also a rampage mode you can activate when you’ve got enough fury, it does pretty much what you would expect, it makes you unstoppable. The whole feel of this games movement and combat makes playing it feel a bit like a boomer shooter, in a good way.
The story
So, I don’t actually know what the story is about, even after having read all the dialogue, but I get the feeling it also isn’t that important. It is a lot like playing Crash or Spyro, the story is not really important at all, it is all about gameplay. Or I just totally missed it, it is possible. I also have to say, skipping dialogue by kicking it was a fun idea.
The binds
There are currently no ways to rebind keys, but I would say that the standard binds are good and logical, and definitely chosen by someone who has experience with how most people bind their keys. None of the binds seemed weird to me. I also want to add that I play with a relatively low mouse sensitivity and I was also able to lower it enough to my liking, it sometimes is an issue.
The issues
So I found one bug, I think. Sometimes when using the rampage mode, after the effect dissipated, the middle finger would just get stuck on the screen till I activated it again. I’m not even sure if it is a bug or not, because I got an achievement for flipping off for 2 minutes, but I couldn’t find a key to lower my finger, so I assume it isn’t intended? It is the only bug I found though. A part of me almost wishes I had found more so I could have made the review longer, but it seems like the game is just too polished. I even tried to glitch out of the map a few times but to no avail.
Closure
So, a friend of mine who knows the developers or one of them, got me a key for this game. I hadn’t actually heard about it or ever seen it on the store before, at least from my recollection, but the algorithm is kinda known for hiding a lot of gems behind ♥♥♥♥♥♥ adult shovelware games now. Either way, I was looking forward to play this and it did actually surprise me, I had a good time.
Early access
This game is in early access and currently doesn’t have a lot of content, but a lot more is coming according to the devs. I still think even at its current size that it could be a good pickup at the upcoming autumn sale, if it goes on sale that is. _________________________________ Help me out by following my Curator, I’d really appreciate it!!
Absolute scumbaggery from the studio here. Abandoning this project... taking the funds earned from it and putting them into a game we didn't purchase. They should never be trusted again. May their socks always get wet right after they put them on.
