About
By earning achievements you will unlock the game´s main currency called glory points, which are mainly used to open paths and move forward in this world.
Gather materials, aid the townsfolk in various quests, defeat bosses without getting a single hit from them, or dive into dungeons and caves to defeat different kinds of mobs to earn glory points. The choice is yours.
Create your own path and discover different zones with unique mini-games, enemies, and eccentric characters.
Take control on which achievement you will be hunting next, and build up your character for your next objective. Upgrade your health, buy more items, and even hire people to help you on this quest. You are free to spend glory points to create your very own experience!
Be careful on how to spend them, though; the next achievement might become harder to get.
A massive object is about to strike Earth and you hear the call: Rise hunter.
Knights and warriors around the world make journeys from their homeland to the ancient gods' vessels, seeking their blessing for aid in an hour of need. These courageous heroes are called Glory Hunters.

Glory Hunters was originally released as a Nintendo Game Boy ROM image. You needed to use a Game Boy emulator in order to play it. Now, an upgraded version of the game has been released on Steam, so you can now play it without the aid of an emulator. Glory Hunters is a RPG that reminds me of Links Awakening. You wander through a vast map of the land known as Glorianta (The Land of Glory), defeating foes in real time combat, hunting for various items, defeating dungeon bosses and assisting NPCs by completing quests. Your ultimate goal is, of course, to save the world. Along your way you will find towns. Towns have stores where you can purchase supplies and upgrades and smiths to upgrade your sword. Towns are also the source of quests and clues on what to do next. The currency of Glorianta is known as Glory Points (GP). You obtain Glory Points by defeating enemies, completing quests and, participating in various activities. While I have not yet completed the game, so far GPs have been relatively easy to obtain. Created by independent developer Cesar Arminio, the game, and it's story, are well written and the graphics are spot on for this type of game. It also has a nice soundtrack and a media player to play the music outside of the game. If you like classic RPGs, I highly recommend that you give Glory Hunters a try!
Please note I will be writing an in depth review at a later date. This game is a lot of fun, I've played the demos and the GB Rom to some length, if your a fan of Zelda like games this one is for you, if your a fan of older adventure games this is for you, if you like sprites and old style visuals this is for you, if you like or hunt achievements this game is for you. Something to note is that the developer is heavily involved in this and has invested a lot of time into it, they are active within the Glory Hunters Discord and you can feel the passion from them. I am very much looking forward to diving deep into Glory Hunters and perhaps even going for 100% For the Glory!
Great game, really cool dev. I love these old school game boy releases and hope more of them get made
Fun but pretty damn hard oldschool zelda-like
I did not play the updated (Steam) version of Glory Hunters, but the initial cartridge released for the Game Boy. Glory Hunters is one of the best homebrew titles that I have played. If you like 2D action-adventures like Zelda, I am pretty sure that you can enjoy Glory Hunters. There are plenty of things to discover in Glorianta: Towns, dungeons, boss fights, puzzles, upgrades, secrets and of course the world of Glorianta itself. Exploring the world really felt good. Graphics, sound and music are of very high quality, especially for a small indie production. On the technical level I barely had any bugs, none of them was game breaking. Most of the time it was enough to just exit and re-enter the screen. The actual gameplay and progress is based on grinding. Usually not my kind of thing, but with Glory Hunters it was very well implemented. Much grinding happens "on the fly" because there is always another enemy to defeat or a bush to slash. There are some elements that can get tedious (mostly towards the end), like watching the credits again and again. But this should be much easier with the updated version, where you can track the progress of your achievements. For the glory!
9.5/10 - This is a super fun Game Boy action-adventure game with a very unique progression system that will cause any achievement hunter to fall in love with the game after only a few minutes. I have loved almost every minute of it. If it weren't for a forest maze that deletes your save file if you step on the wrong spot too many times and a few grindy achievements, I would have given this a perfect 10/10. If this game had existed at the time, it could have been a serious contender to be bundled with the Game Boy instead of Tetris
A delightful Zelda-like with modern conveniences and where your path through its open world is flexible but challenging. If you want the feeling of satisfaction that comes with forging your way charming screen by charming screen and slowly conquering this realm, you gotta give this a try.
Oozing gameboy style. A pretty 1 for 1 recreation of classic gameboy rpgs of old. The mechanics are simple as well as the story. Perhaps it evolves as the game goes on but from my short time it consisted of lots of dialogue where almost every other word is glory and using my little swing attack to kill bushes.. and sometimes robed men. I recommend this game if you have a taste gameboy juice of olde.
Glorioso :v
