Gleeb Glob

Hello. This game really changed my life. I have never been faced with a harder challenge than completing this game. 89p is a bit expensive, I would wait til it's on sale.

Fun but hard! As you get better you start to progress on the main level and see the different areas with changing atmosphere. The multiplayer levels are a joy to play in, lots of laughs with friends. The different items add a lot of chaos and create fun situations. If you like Jump King and similar games this is a game for you.

"Gleeb Glob" is proof that all the good names for Steam games were taken. This is a Godot 2D game (worth pointing out no game made with Godot's 2D engine have ever been truly successful, and while the 3D engine is pretty good, it's too complicated for amateur devs), and it's yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam. Thousands. This is not one of the better ones. This is a precision platformer with a few different locomotion methods, that at least changes things up a bit. The rather pointless theme is that you're a disgruntled office worker. Whatever, Mario is a plumber but that game worked where this doesn't. I don't think that has anything to do with this game failing, however. It's more of a case of Steam not really needing any more 2D retro platformers... the genre is saturated and the audience tiny. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $9 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

I'd refund this game if it didn't cost me 29 cents
