Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Gray Wolf

This is in a foreign language to me, so I cannot play it on steam. However, it is abandonware so I downloaded it for free (very easy to find). I also downloaded the manual too. Both are in English. To play the game, I needed to download dos box, and this was also for free. I unzipped the game file, and dragged the "Koei" file onto the dos box icon on my desktop. This starts the game. I pressed Alt+Enter to maximise the screen. I have bought it on Steam as I feel it's only fair to pay for the game. The game is just how I remembered it from the 1990s. What's the game about? You control a nation on the world map. You are a character in the world with skills. You have action points to spend each season. You spend these to manage your nation, its army, your generals, and spend time with your family. It's like a basic Crusader Kings. Except you can control your armies in battles. The game is well designed and balanced. The battles are simple but fun. Both the nation management and battles are turn-based. What do I enjoy about the game? 1) Seeing my nation develop by growing its economy and food productivity. 2) Picking my army composition to perform better in tactical battles. 3) Seeing how the world develops. 4) Spending time with my family to raise good kids, from which I can choose a successor when my character dies of old age. 5) The sandbox nature of the game. by which I mean there's no research or similar progression, so you can play for as long as you want (many generations of rulers) and it's still the same great game. When I invest time in a game, I hate it when it ends, or gets to a state where the outcome is determined. 6) Watching AI empires rise and fall. They fall because rulers have to appoint generals to control their other lands, and some of these are not loyal. (Hint: your wife will sometimes let you know which of your generals is not loyal when you spend time with your family). 6) Conquering some nations and giving it to my generals to manage. You can only control one nation at a time, though you can set policies for lands you have conquered. The simplicity and balanced nature of it are what attract me still after all these years. For me this game has sentimental value. I hope my review helps others to enjoy this classic game.

ПОЖАЛУЙСТА СДЕЛАЙТЕ АНГЛИЙСКИЙ ЯЗЫК ЕСТЬ ДОС ВЕРСИЯ PLEASE ADD ENGLISH there is a ENGLISH dos version ДУмал, что можно будет заменить файлы и сделать английский язык в игре, но увы, версия игры какая-то непонятная, играть в это на японском языке невозможно, информации о ней в стиме - мало, скриншоты делать невозможно. в игре не CDзвук, а 16-битный (а может быть и 8-бит) звук, игра клавиатуру не поддерживает, только мышку, играть неудобно и потом к тому же игра требует какой-то 2 диск С что это, (проблему потом решил) я вообще не понимаю, никаких инструкций по поводу решения этой проблемы нет, честно говоря без английского языка играть в это не представляю возможным, деньги вернул, кто хочет поиграть, качайте английскую дос версию, честно говоря будет немного непонятна она, тем кто играл на сеге, но в стиме это не продукт, а плевок, даже не плевок, а струя в лицо фанатам.

PC９８版の再現でPS版より音楽が好き。勢力も4つから選べるが、シナリオが一つ少ない（サラディンが出てくるシナリオ）。やることがシンプルなので、そういうのが好きな人にはおすすめ。

This was an Awesome game series on SNES. I notice this version is in Japanese. Highly recommend if you can read Japanese or if you can find it in your language.

Great game - but why Japenese edition only ? There is DOS version with English. Why we're again forced to do the Abandonware search ;-(

セーブデータロード時にたまに異常が発生する。季節が巻き戻ってしまったり、担当君主が「AT」となってゲームが進めなくなったりする。異音が出て、ゲームが進めないときもある。以前の復刻版ソフトでも同様のバグが発生。エミュレートする際に起きたなんらかの設計ミスと思われ、そのエラーがいまだに訂正されていないと思われる。

弓騎兵系を4～8くらい揃えたら 半歩進んで弓を撃ち 半歩下がって次のターン これを繰り返して3国くらい落としたところで情熱が消え失せてしまったので終了 遊び方が悪いと言われればそれまでだけど蒼き狼シリーズってやっぱり大味すぎると思うの

注　このゲームは絶対にプレイしないでください。本来の元朝秘史の価値を誤って認識し、不快になる虞があります。 私は、このゲームをSFC（スーパーファミコン）版でリアルタイムにプレイし、当時夏休みの大半をこのゲームに割いていたくらいのヘビーユーザーでしたが、Steam版は、当時ですら起きなかった不具合及び不快感満載でプレイに値しないので絶対にプレイしないでください。 注意喚起として以下に列挙しておきます。 １　ディスクを挿入して読み込むわけでもないのに、セーブやプレイの度にディスクの切り替えを疑似的に求められる ２　SFC版でも滅多に起きなかったフリーズが頻繁に起きる ３　グラフィックもクソ（おそらく当時のPC版又はSFC版以下）

30年以上前に出されたゲームであり、システムをそのまま移植しているのか分からないが、セーブシステムから何からとにかくやりにくい。慣れればそれなりに楽しめるが、能力評価は6段階しかないし、行動力が最大で15しかないので1ターンでできることが非常に少ないし、そしてその1ターンが季節ごとのせいで1年が非常に速い、などなど不自由を感じることは非常に多い。 しかし、信長の野望や三国志をプレイした経験があると思うので、その経験を頼りにすればすぐに慣れるだろう。 1998年にシリーズ最新作が出ており、オリジナル版の入手が難しいシリーズを入手できるというのは魅力的である。 しかし、その魅力を抜きにして現代のゲーム観で考えるならば、ボリューム的に1000円でも高い。(容量45MBだぞ) このシリーズをプレイしてみたいという意思がないなら、買うことをお勧めしない。

神作，最喜歡的光榮遊戲之一，當年是玩日文版，上了Steam之後一直在關注，看到有優惠馬上買了，沒想到現在的電腦還能玩，感動。
