About
GeckoShop is a Sandbox Shop Simulator + Creature Collector, where you manage your own shop, selling all the different varieties of geckos!
"Your dream of having your own Petshop finally comes true. Get cozy and have a fun time collecting and selling lizards, or grind hard and be the next millionare on this island!"
You'll have to:
Deal with customers, set your own Prices.
Keep the store clean and working, or get Employees to do it for you!
Explore the small open-world city, with People to interact with, Quests and other things at every corner.
Find Shells and ancient Artifacts on the beach to fill the museum, to unlock even more content as you go.
Accept Quests from various NPCs on the island.
Catch Thieves trying to steal from your shop.
Decorate and upgrade your store, however you want.

You can sell your pets, or turn your Shop into a zoo!
There are hundreds of geckos for you to unlock, in 4 rarities. Through opening chests, mutating geckos in the Lab, Vending machines, and through sidequests.
Buy and open different Boxes, to get random Geckos from that set, and if you're lucky enough you might even find a Super rare gecko.

Hire Employees to assist you to sell pets and products, clean trash from your store, and catch thieves before they can steal anything.
Keep your shop small or upgrade it to the maximum, make a giant warehouse full of rare items and animals.
Collect Trophies to display in the Backroom of your Shop, to keep track of your Progress.

The City is full of Surprises! Check out the Lab, where "Zippy Joe" made a machine to mutate 5 geckos into another one, and with some luck you might even get a Lab-exclusive gecko (very rare, they sparke in rainbow colors!)
Go to the Wrenchshop, and talk with "Bolt" about upgrading your shop, or go to the Paintshop and let "Doodle" paint your whole Shop.
Get yourself a Companion from the Petshop, or race against other geckos!
And dont forget to get a Burger from the restaurant next to the Beach ;)
You might want to go treasure hunting, or collect shells and ancient artifacts to keep the museum growing.
Or maybe you want to catch fishes all day long and forget about your customers!
Sell your fishes to "Skipper", but don't worry, you'll see in your Collection which fishes you've already catched, and which ones are missing.

so is every single person who bought the first game going to get the second for free? since you abandoned it after only version 0.2, will we at least get refunds? are you even going to finish the new games? and why should anybody trust you to buy another early access game? im not sure if you are aware but early access is not just "hey buy my game" then make another, early access is only a thing to help give you feedbacka nd capital to invest and grow your company, which you seemingly did neither with, as your compaints about gecko shop 1 was that "you were in over your head" ok? then take some of the money that was invested into you, to hire people that actually know what they are doing, its not like you did a job and got paid for it, its as if you got paid to build me a new bathroom, you got paid full price up front, ripped my bathroom out, then left me with an unfinished bathroom and went on to offer your services to more people without ever finishing the bathroom or breaking the contract.
Do not buy this game. It is dead and abandoned. I'm willing to give indie devs a lot of grace and understanding but it's hard to trust they're going to come through with another game AND a sequel when they went radio silent for half a year due to being stressed and overworked. The game is a fine concept, just buggy as hell, unfinished, and completely abandoned. Do not waste your money.

Cute concept but do not buy. Dev announced new game ( same but v2 ) , after leaving current game in V0.2 for months riddled with bugs and practically little to no content. Greedy and lazy.
- GeckoShop Releases as an Early Access title - Dev says he's abandoning it and making a sequel instead because the coding is ♥♥♥♥ and not worth it (still took everyones money btw) - Dev announces GeckoShop 2 and gets ♥♥♥♥ on for obvious reasons - Dev announces remaking GeckoShop 1 and is going to give it to everyone as a free update due to backlash, but still intends to make GeckoShop 2 alongside it. Dawg you couldn't make one game so now you wanna make two at the same time? Ignoring the obvious problems with that mess, Why are you making the sequel to a game that isnt even finished in the first place? everything you're putting into GeckoShop 2 should just be a part of GeckoShop 1, it wasn't finished so why are you doing this?? It's because you're trying to crank out some effortless crap to scam people with. TLDR: this dev is a scammer dont buy anything he makes.
EDIT: Seems a post i made on the discord made some people mad enough to come talk crap about my review on steam. So yeah as a heads up that's the "community" or dev team harassing people for calling out a cash grab, and who you will be dealing with if you support any of their other games. This is an abandoned game, that was decent, but wow they suck for not even attempting to finish this one and just "lol guys heres the second one" no, its not the second one, its 0.3 at best, you suck and the second one should be free to everyone who wasted money on this sloppy cash grab. again DO NOT BUY THIS OR THE "SECOND" GAME, THEY HAVE PROVEN THEY ARE JUST A CASH GRAB DEVELOPER DAY ONE
I hadn't played this game for a while and while i did enjoy it initially, i took a break which is why it was a surprise to see that there was a sequel announced so i said to myself "huh that must mean this game is finished right? i mean what game would get a sequel before leaving early access" this game apparently. It never got past V0.2.1 which for those not in the know means they never released what would be considered a full early version of the game. This game has been abandoned by the dev team and inn their own words its due to how unusable the code is. Which means their solution to that was to make a new game, and not disclose on the store page that this game has been abandoned and remove the ability to buy it if its so unfixable. They have offered a vague "huge discount" for people who have bought this version for the second game but to be perfectly honest if that discount isnt 100% off then i wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this game or the other one when it come outs.
i was waiting for bug which destroyed my save to be fixed but developer ghosted me for more than a year. DO NOT BUY!
abandonware should be free
Yeah no. Not playing the second one. This game barely came out and then was abandoned so fast with minimal updates. It hasn't even come out with V1 it's STILL in V.0.2! For shame. I literally haven't been able to play this game since v0.2.0b because it keeps crashing and glitching out with zero fixes despite all the bug reports I and my friends have made. If you're really just building the game from the ground up, FINE but refund the players for this game not just a 'heavy discount' so we take your word for it that its fixed. I want a damn refund for this unplayable abandoned game. It was playable for a first while but broke and wasn't fixed afterwards. I bloody wish I could refund this game AFTER YOU MADE IT COMPLETELY UNPLAYABLE AND REFUSED TO FIX IT. You're just a money grabber. You're a scammer. This is a damn rug pull. Fix THIS GAME FIRST OR REFUND US FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Shame on you Dev. Shame on you.
It's very cute and I usually have very low standards for what entertains me, but the amount of bugs and lack of any kind of useful guidance and information in-game make it so frustrating to play that I don't think I'll be touching it again.
