Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4/day in the week to Aug 14 → 33.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Every Josh and Zane born before 9/11 loved this game.
I've been through the game almost twice now, so take my empirical data of two playthroughs as the absolute truth, but I had only one instance of a need to reload, and that was the cutscene overlay getting stuck on top of the UI when getting Cole. Never happent again. Fair enough, you can be critical of the brightness. It does take away from the mood and atmosphere, but beyond that, the game is gorgeous. Some of JANK will be there, it is still a remaster injected with new tech and visuals, not a complete remake. The only thing I found annoying—and I'm fairly sure this was in the original as well, AI comrades in SP just keep running away and dying. It isn't really an issue except for the boss fights, but it is also a tad bit immersion-breaking. Something could've been done to at least not have them go off on their own so much. If you haven't played Gears, it's a no-brainer. Pick it up, its a great game, and it runs great if you have a decent system. Hopefully Gears of War 2 and 3 get the same treatment.
!!!Disappointing for long-time fans!!! !!!Only buy when discounted!!! Single player only (compared to the 2006 original) +++The graphical upgrade does look great in places +++Music is great +++Seeing better facial animations on characters improves a lot of moments in cutscenes +++Every level has a bigger LOD which gives the world much more depth ---Every cutscene has worse direction, lighting, and overall impact than 2006. ---Worse blood effects than 2006. ---Worse ragdoll effects than 2006. ---The brighter colours, environmental redesigns, and some character redesigns make for a much worse visual atmosphere and tone compared to the original. ---Weapons are visually less impactful and easily get lost within the environment. This was never a problem in the original. ---Companion AI is worse than 2006 ---The added levels, not found in the 2006 original, aren't as well designed and have noticeably worse writing.
we need a full collection not this ♥♥♥♥
They need to a mixed review on steam already. I'm only really speaking from a Single Player point of view, as Gears multiplayer was never my thing (although I've heard from others the servers are dead and they've nerfed/changed things from the originals, so Multiplayer is probably not great anyway). I can't really recommend this game at full price. £40 for a game which despite its visual upgrade still carries the same quirks and lack of content outside of the campaign is just impossible to justify; there simply isn't enough here to be worth £40. As for the gameplay, I found the movement very clunky on Mouse and Keyboard, something which I cannot remember from playing the original 360 release all those years ago (but that might just be my bad memory). The additional missions (which were originally only available on the PC release) are nice to be included in the remake, and overall it was a nice nostalgia trip, but unfortunately unless the game is on sale for a significant discount, I just can't recommend it, unless you're a diehard gears fan. As a side note, I did also notice having some stuttering issues with the game, which I find odd since I have a PC which should be more than capable of running the game without issues (AMD 9800x3d, 9070xt, 32GB ram, windows 11).
No local co-op despite being promised. No FOV slider, 30 FPS cutscenes, grainy audio, dead MP, braindead AI, and broken checkpoints/voice lines. Abandoned by devs despite its many technical issues.
