the game is just fantastic, works well on linux, very light on most 2015+ hardware, but it has some problems, clutched gears just don't work on high speeds, the handling is horrible (i mean, vehicles just "jump" at high speeds or lose control) i don't know if aerodynamics work or not, it seems like just placebo i highly recommend, better than most games in the category, ignoring high speeds, it works well, it has small gears, and wow, the only problem i've seen in 25h of play time is the physics limits

If you're into gears, this is the game for you. Could definitely benefit from having more features and better polishing, but still a pretty fun game.

Игра очень разнообразная, даже с тем условием что физика не самая лучшая. Я перешел сюда с Scrap Mechanic и я могу сказать что Gearblox гораздо лучше. Сидя в Scrap я никогда не думал как сделал дифференциал, подвеску и всё такое. Большое спасибо автору игры за то что продолжаете её развивать!

Personally this game has the potential to be my favorite game even above people playground, automation tycoon, and beamng ( huge car and engineering nerd if you couldn't tell). This game has tons of opportunity to be the staple of engineering games with infinite possibilities of what you can build; from a car with working suspension and brakes and a motor with transmition, all the way to an automated box moving robot. The controls ARE NOT as hard as the other reviewers gripe about, if you actually like engineering and building you will slowly but surely overcome the building system. I only have 1 issue with this game and its the frequent crashing of the game and it turns my computer screen off, but keeps my PC on( This may be my PC, Ill post specs with this review if any technoperson feels they're able to trouble shoot whether its the game of my potato of a PC). To conclude, The game, its mechanics, and its possibilities go above and beyond, except for the one issue I face.

I love this game. The mechanics feel and work very well even with advanced building techniques (and the bugs, but that's par for the course). The gravity and collision physics are also quite accurate even with advanced building techniques. The learning curve (in my opinion) is good. I can't say that it'll go well with those who aren't persistent and whether you start early or late into the game can drastically affect the beginners experience. TLDR: is cool if you like "realism" -personal opinion- Don't start advanced, even if you're capable or optimistic. It'll drain your creativity fast or make you mad. You gotta trickle them out so you can build those creativities and learn from them. This also applies to looking at the workshop. Don't just turn yourself into a workshop user. That's going to bore you even faster; it's also lame.

This sandbox is a must for anyone with the slight interest in mechanics. Physics are great, combustion engines, electric motors, suspension, aerodynamics, logic gates... you can do anything! And even though it's in early access it feels more like a final game with extra patches, it's 100% solid, no bugs, no crashes.. the perfect game.

I have little to say about the game itself, its a sandbox game being maintained by a single dev so dont expect the world, otherwise fun i guess. However i would not recommend supporting this dev or his community. Its being moderated by a completely mentally ill transvestite that has zero oversight over his actions. He is only concern is enforcing his political beliefs, and is wildly hypocritical when it comes to enforcement. In one channel they will be having extremely inappropriate conversations about their sexuality (and all the drugs associated with it), but will totally ban you for "using the r-word" outside and away from the server. I did try to message the Dev (Sam) about this problem but was completely ignored, so i will assume he condones this behavior. I've already removed all my workshop posts and will be removing this game from my library permanently. Sam, i hope your community of less than 100 active players benefit from these decisions because i cannot see how you do.
