the idea is a great concept, but so much is plain broken, customers when they enter your shop will pile up at one point and never actually browse let alone buy anything, you will have ten or more people piled at one point generating a never ending pile of mess that will not stop until they leave for the day. this is a seriously unfinished game
Game Shop Simulator – Early Review (Pre-Release Copy)

By Quantom Pheonix | The Ember Archives
Review Score: 5.5/10 (Early Access – Subject to Change) **NOTE** This review was Written July 18th, 2025 First off, I want to extend a huge thank you to SP Games for providing me with an early copy of Game Shop Simulator. I’ve spent about an hour with the game so far, and while there’s definitely potential here, there are also a number of areas that need some love .
The Good
The core gameplay loop is solid and functional. You’ve got your basic components of a shop sim already in place: An item shop for purchasing goods, furniture, and utilities. The ability to place shelves, tables, and organize your layout. A simple and intuitive pricing system that allows you to choose between “cheap,” “average,” or “expensive” settings with visual indicators. Employees work well—something not always guaranteed in early builds! You can hire workers to handle cleaning or cashier duties, and both types function as intended. I didn’t encounter any bugs here, and I appreciated how quickly they got to work after hiring. Currently, it seems you can hire only two workers, but it’s a good start.
Neutral / Notes
Some features are incomplete or missing, but not deal-breakers: The item shop lacks images, so it’s not always clear what you’re buying. This makes planning your layout or inventory a bit of a guessing game. No tutorial at this point. While the game is relatively easy to figure out on your own, a short walkthrough or tooltip system would definitely help new players understand where to go and what to do. Settings are minimal: One toggle for audio (on/off) — no volume sliders. Simple graphics settings. A sensitivity slider that’s difficult to fine-tune; it’s hard to find the “just right” setting.
The Bad / Bugs I Found
There are a few key issues that affected my experience:
Severe FPS drops
I noticed consistent frame rate dips from 130 to 40 FPS with no obvious cause. It may be linked to the number of customers, unclean floors, or clutter, but it really affects playability during busy moments.
Storefront selection bug
At the start, you’re offered a $200 or $2,000 store. I clicked on the $2,000 one just to check it out and was immediately locked into it. There was no way to cancel or back out, so I was stuck with the expensive option and barely any funds left to actually operate. That hurt the rest of my test session.
Shelf/Table placement bugs
With shelves: I could place one item, but then no others, even if the shelf had room. I had to pick up and move the shelf (using 'G') before it would let me place more items. With tables: Items placed fine, but customers never bought them. Even worse, I couldn’t pick them up using an empty box, and since I couldn’t move the table, the items were stuck and unmovable.
Final Thoughts
Game Shop Simulator has its core loop working and shows promise, especially for fans of shop-management games. It’s not perfect — and definitely not finished — but I wouldn’t dismiss it outright. With more polish, UI clarity, and bug fixing, this could be a fun and relaxing sim. My current score is a 5.5/10, with room to grow. I genuinely hope the dev reads this and uses the feedback to improve what’s already shaping up to be an enjoyable little project.

Video dazu: https://youtu.be/0LekYMNlNdI
Warning: AI Slop This game/marketing materials are partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content. The developer deliberately breached their obligations under Valve terms and services by not appropriately warning gamers, in a deliberate attempt to mislead gamers.

Warning: Asset Flip!
Game Shop Simulator is a Unity Asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", SP Games, took the Market Shop Store and Retail Game Unity Store game assets from the real developers, Queen, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work. Because this is an almost exact 1:1 copy + paste of the original Unity asset, it's in violation of the Unity Asset Store Terms of Service and EULA. Specifically, Section 2, Subsection 2.2.1a:
Subject to the restrictions set forth in this EULA, Licensor hereby grants to the END-USER a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, and perpetual license to the Asset solely:(a) to incorporate the Asset, together with substantial, original content not obtained through the Unity Asset Store, into an electronic application or digital media that has a purpose, features, and functions beyond the display, performance, distribution, or use of Assets ("Licensed Product") as an embedded component of that Licensed Product, such that the Asset does not comprise a substantial portion of the Licensed Product
Because the developer misused the asset pack such that it comprises the vast majority of this "game", the developer has unethically and deliberately breached the license agreement. Worse, this intellectual property violation was done in an attempt to profit from their illicit actions. Why is this permitted on Steam? SP Games has shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"WWII Tanks: Battlefield" = Physics Tank Maker developed by Chobi
"Raccoon: The Orc Invasion" = 2D Forest Assets Pack developed by Olan Artworks
"WWII Tanks: Forgotten Battles" = Physics Tank Maker developed by Chobi
"Battle Tanks: Arena" = Kawaii Tanks Project developed by Chobi
"Tank Commander: Battlefield" = Battle Tank Starter Kit developed by Hardworker Studio
The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Market Shop Store and Retail Game" is just a basic Unity business/shop tycoon asset pack that the "developer" reskinned, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game. It's just a minimum viable product, just enough to get through the non-existent quality control on Steam Direct. Not a real game. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers. Next is pricing and value. Is this game worth buying from among the 140,000+ games on Steam? Game Shop Simulator has the insane price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Mass Effect 3", "X-Com: Enemy Unknown" or "The Witcher 2". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. Because this is just a fake game/cash grab scam, and due to the sheer unethical nature of the developer, you should avoid this completely. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from SP GAMES.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
game doesnt save properly.. and it starts a new game so u loose all the money youve savfed . not enough options for the game needs a big update ... not a good game ...
