Hoping to change this in the future. My critiques: The first levels are trivially easy, and this is agravated by the fact that the game lacks a speed setting like balatro does, so all these first levels seem like a chore. The game may offer harder playthrough later when unlocking higher difficulties, but I cannot get to them as im already bored of my runs :c . The gambits (akin to jokers in balatro) also don't seem that multi-varied, that well designed, or memorable, but that also may be that I wont get a chance to learn them all since I am already bored. They game also doesn't seem to ALT+TAB or start and close in a quick way like balatro does, so is not as good at killing idle time. Sorry for the many comparisons to balatro, but that game is very good and acclaimed, this game has a lot of potential, but a long long way to go. Bad pixel art, bad loooong animations, clunky behaviour for a should-be super lightweight game like this. I think this game could be very good. Hope to come back and change my review.
If you play/have played chess casually/semi-competitivly, this game is awesome. First ever run lasted 2h and completed it by getting some insane king-money-generating strat. PROS: - Very nice retro UI and game juice - Creative but easy to understand powerups - A lot, like a lot of powerups - Very nice balancing (at least for the basic difficulty) - Easy for chess beginners to understand (very good onboarding imo) CONS (if you can even call them cons) - Not a chess simulator: you won't experience your classical opening -> mid game -> late game - Had some minor performance issues (playing on a semi-potato) I have to say I've been waiting a long time for someone to make a chess-game-breaking game like this one and it delivers. If you like game-breaking games like Balatro and you enjoy a bit of chess, you'll most likely not regret buying this one. 10/10
Интересная вариация карточных игр в шахматной стилистике. Фигуры двигаются по классическим правилам, а всё остальное ощущается совершенно по-новому. Однако надолго увлечь может не всех — лучше брать со скидкой.
meh. faltan más powerups
слишком дорого. если б я знал что покупаю то не дал бы за это больше 50 гривен. к самой игре претензий нет
I suck at chess. i love roguelike.
