The game is absolutely terrible. The controls are sluggish and you will get your tail feathers handed to you about 99% of the time. There is no time to even try to aim your lance. Shield or Head I can't see to aim for them. You just put your lance over the line and pray you either break your lance or do some serious damage to your opponent. The balance mini-game is an absolute joke. It is totally unresponsive. I hit right as soon as the dot appears, and it shoots straight to the left and throws me. The Rock Paper Scissors mechanic of Barding, Shield, Lance, and Armor need to be explained better than "Oh, just play around with it." All these elements make for a frustrating and unpleasant experience. I do not mind a challenge. I do mind a skill-based game leaving it up to lady luck to make the final judgement. This game has so much potential but in its current state I do not recommend it.
Playing this game I feel immersed into medieval europe. The gameplay is not very interesting, and also repetitive. I just point the lance at the enemy, and whether I hit for damage, for broken lance or miss is a mystery. Can't see what is going on. The traveling is very nice. I feel like I'm traveling around france participating in jousting duels.

Is it just me, or is there no way to quit the game, lol? I tried all the usual keys (ESC), etc., and I had to use Task Manager close program to exit the game. Issues so far: 1) I could not find a way to reset key bindings. I am left handed and use my mouse in left hand, so I can't use A and D keys to "balance". The dev needs to add key binds at least for this basic need, or also add the left and right arrows as a option to replace A and D keys. 2) There is no difficulty settings, slider, etc. (but perhaps that has to do with mixing and matching armor, lance, shield and barding against your opponent (not covered well in tutorial). I assume if I keep practicing I will get good enough to continue, but without the keybindings option I am dead in the water for now. I think the game looks like fun (especially on sale), but I just haven't had enough time or practice to really get a feel for it yet. It is a miss for now, sorry. I am more than happy to upgrade my review if the key binding is answered. Thank you.
Damn the bot reviews are insane. Look, here's the deal. This game is not good. Whatever you think this game will be, it is not. It is a flash game that barely knows how it is supposed to work.
I really wanted to like this game, but there's just no point to it. It is repetitive, there isn't really any skill involved, and there is no explanation of why things happen or how to respond to them. The FOV is too close in, the current game mechanics might work if you could see the whole tilting field and have any kind of time to aim for a specific target. As it is, I don't even have time to move my lance into position after clicking that I'm ready before the opponent is on me. The game needs a serious overhaul. Real jousting involved all kinds of skills; balance, speed, horsemanship, aim, strength. And this is just RNG hit boxes and hope. I'm not going to return it, because I got it on sale, and I want to give it a chance to improve. But for right now, I say don't bother.
