Galactic Breakout

Galactic Breakout ist ein einfaches aber gut gemachtes Breakout Spiel. Der Preis ist sehr günstig, (2 Euro) die Steuerung genau und die verschiedenen Level können überzeugen. Ein gelungenes Geschicklichkeitsspiel für wenig Geld.

Гра в якій, те що бачиш, те й отримаєш. Тут немає чогось особливо нового для жанру, геймплей практично не змінюється протягом гри, але випадкові підсилення і дебафи додають різноманіття. Одночасно з тим гра досить коротка, тому не встигає набриднути. Загалом чудовий спосіб розслабитися на декілька годин

To be completely honest, I haven't played a breakout game in ... probably 20 years. It's fair to say that I love the idea of breakout games more than actually playing them, probably out of nostalgia that dates back to my childhood (which was a good bit longer ago than 20 years). I'm not sure how many hours I'll put into this, or how soon that will happen, but from what I've seen so far, this is definitely a very well executed implementation of breakouts basic idea. There are lots of powerups and -downs. Trying to catch a ball with your shrunken paddle or when you accidentally slowed it down (snail, grrr!) is a challenge and feels rewarding. Graphics, music and sound effects are not going to win any prices, but they're absolutely doing the job. I like that the game is not as unforgiving as arcade games of old used to be. When you run out of lives and restart, you continue from the current level (obviously with 0 score). You can also just start a new game any time at any level you've previously beaten. In terms of progression, there isn't much apart from making it through all the levels. There is a high score that's recorded for each level, but there doesn't seem to be a high score list rewarding you for actually working through a bunch of levels in one go. Or I might just be missing it. It's a bit of a bummer that you can't play with keyboard, because breakout with a mouse always feels a bit like cheating to me. But then again, the game is challenging enough to make up for that. In any event, it's a 2$ game. You get a lot more than 2$ worth of game here. The verdict is simple: If you like breakout games, you will almost definitely like this one. If you don't like breakout games, then this game is not for you.

If you want to spend some time relaxing and enjoying nice music, this game is the right choice for you! Easy game-play, I like the thing that you can play it with one hand, every level is different and colourful, a lot of different and unique buffs & debuffs (sometimes you don't understand what's going on there :D). I'm not a big fan of such games, but this one impressed me and the good thing is, it has achievements, that I really like!

Ich liebe alles daran... der Soundtrack passt wie die Faust aufs Auge und gibt mir Gänsehaut. Manchmal brauch ein Spiel nicht viel, das ist der Beweis. Danke Trident Peak :)

Galactic Breakout é um jogo do arcade, de quebrar tijolos, inspirado no primeiro do estilo, Breakout. A jogabilidade, assim como o objetivo de jogos do gênero são simples. Devemos fazer uso de uma barra horizontal na parte inferior da tela, para rebater uma bola nos tijolos na parte superior, até que não sobre mais nenhum nos cenários. Esta versão, conta uma temática cósmica, onde os fundos simulam galáxias. Possui um colorido muito agradável no contraste dos blocos com os fundos. A trilha sonora conta com arranjos de músicas eletrônicas, que casam muito bem com o ritmo do título. Os power-ups são variados, dando uma modificada na forma como jogamos, sendo que eles podem nos ajudar ou nos atrapalhar. Os verdes ajudam, e os vermelhos atrapalham. Conta com um bom número de fases, com conquistas relativamente fáceis, além de possuir suporte para o joystick. Caso queira mais dificuldade, experimente jogar com um. Jogar com um mouse deixa a dificuldade na medida certa. É a melhor versão de Breakout/Arkanoid que vi no Steam até hoje e com um preço bastante acessível. Recomendo !

Classic game play with clever (and devious) buffs / de-buffs. Good graphics. An inexpensive and fun nostalgia journey worth taking.
