Reviews
Gachamon is a cozy idle clicker developed and published by Family Devs that successfully combines the appeal of creature collecting with the convenience of passive progression. Designed as a bottom-of-screen companion game, it embraces a growing trend within the idle genre by allowing players to enjoy steady advancement without demanding constant attention. Instead of becoming the sole focus of a gaming session, Gachamon quietly operates alongside everyday activities, creating a relaxing experience centered on collecting creatures, earning currency, and gradually building an ever-expanding collection. The game's concept is refreshingly simple. Players receive access to a magical gachapon machine that dispenses a variety of collectible creatures. Every new creature contributes to coin generation, creating a cycle where collection directly fuels progression. This straightforward design makes the game immediately accessible, allowing players to understand its objectives within minutes. The process of obtaining creatures, generating resources, and unlocking additional rewards forms a satisfying gameplay loop that remains easy to follow while still providing a sense of long-term accomplishment. At the heart of the experience lies the collection system. The game features one hundred unique creatures, each serving as both a collectible reward and a source of passive income. The desire to complete the collection becomes a powerful motivator, encouraging players to continue interacting with the gacha machine in hopes of discovering something new. Every pull carries an element of anticipation, creating moments of excitement even within the game's otherwise calm and relaxed structure. One of the most appealing aspects of Gachamon is its commitment to idle progression. Collected creatures continue generating rewards regardless of whether players are actively interacting with the game. This design makes it particularly appealing for people who enjoy multitasking. Players can leave the game running while working, studying, browsing the internet, or playing other titles, then return later to find their collection has continued to grow. The system rewards patience and consistency rather than intensive play sessions. The bottom-of-screen interface is arguably the game's most distinctive feature. Instead of occupying the entire display, Gachamon remains neatly positioned along the lower edge of the screen. This allows it to function as a digital companion rather than a traditional game demanding exclusive attention. The design is especially effective because it complements the idle genre's strengths. Progress continues in the background while remaining visible enough to encourage occasional interaction throughout the day. The gacha mechanics provide the game's primary source of engagement. Randomized rewards create a constant sense of curiosity and discovery, as players never know exactly which creature will appear next. This unpredictability helps keep the collection process entertaining and gives each pull significance. While the overall progression system remains simple, the excitement generated by unlocking new creatures prevents the experience from feeling entirely automated. Visually, Gachamon embraces a bright and welcoming aesthetic. The creature designs are colorful, charming, and intentionally approachable. Rather than pursuing realism or complexity, the game focuses on creating a cheerful atmosphere that matches its relaxed gameplay. The visual presentation contributes significantly to the game's appeal because the creatures themselves serve as the primary rewards for continued play. Their distinct appearances help make collection feel meaningful and encourage players to seek out every available entry. The game's pacing is carefully tailored toward long-term enjoyment rather than immediate gratification. Progress occurs steadily, allowing players to gradually improve their collection without feeling pressured to constantly optimize every decision. This measured pace aligns perfectly with the title's cozy identity and makes it easy to incorporate into daily routines. The experience is designed to be enjoyable in short bursts, making it particularly well-suited for casual players. Online leaderboards introduce a light competitive element without disrupting the relaxed nature of the game. Players who enjoy optimization can compare their progress with others and pursue higher rankings, while those who prefer a more casual experience can simply focus on collecting creatures at their own pace. This optional layer of competition broadens the game's appeal and provides additional motivation for dedicated players. One of Gachamon's greatest strengths is its accessibility. The mechanics are intuitive, the objectives are clear, and the progression system avoids unnecessary complexity. Players are never overwhelmed by large numbers of systems or difficult decisions. Instead, the game focuses entirely on delivering a pleasant and rewarding cycle of collection and growth. This simplicity helps make it welcoming to newcomers while still offering enough progression to keep fans of idle games interested. Its primary limitation is that the gameplay loop may feel repetitive for players seeking deep strategic systems or extensive customization. The experience is intentionally focused, and nearly every mechanic revolves around collecting creatures and generating currency. While this clarity of purpose is one of the game's strengths, players looking for more complex progression paths may eventually desire additional layers of depth. Nevertheless, Gachamon succeeds because it understands exactly what kind of experience it wants to provide. It does not attempt to compete with large-scale simulation games or complex management titles. Instead, it embraces its role as a relaxing desktop companion that rewards patience, curiosity, and collection. The combination of passive progression, charming creature designs, and unobtrusive gameplay creates an experience that feels both modern and inviting. Gachamon is ultimately a delightful example of how effective a simple concept can be when executed with confidence. Its creature collection mechanics, idle progression systems, and multitasking-friendly design create a game that is easy to enjoy over long periods of time. While its simplicity may not satisfy every type of player, fans of cozy idle games and collection-focused experiences will likely find plenty to appreciate. It succeeds as a charming companion title that transforms small moments of interaction into a rewarding and relaxing experience. Rating: 7/10
A smooth upgrade experience, satisfying gameplay loop. A good time to be had.
An entertaining and easy-to-enjoy video game with good graphics and dynamic gameplay. A great choice for having fun and passing the time.
Cozy idle gem that runs at the bottom of your screen while you work. Collecting all 100 adorable creatures is dangerously addictive, and the art is charming. Perfect for multitaskers.

Very nice and enjoyable game. worth its price, can only recommend it.
Great game that definetely exceeded expectation! Game can be played almost idle or actively for better efficiency which is nice! 10/10 game lots of fun for cheap!
DO NOT BUY! All the positive reviews are very, VERY fishy. The game is not fun at all. EDIT - The devs have deleted my forum post, blocked me from Discord, and hidden the lie filled devlogs. So...after some digging it seems the reviews for Gachamon are coming from both bots and undisclosed highly biased sources? Almost all the positive reviews come from accounts that exclusively review other Family Devs games, always giving positive reviews. Some even seem like devs themselves? (They are friends with the Family Devs account on steam) There are a couple private accounts I couldn't confirm, but literally every review is extremely suspicious. Not to mention almost all of them have only a single hour of playtime despite the game requiring hundreds if not thousands to complete. Leaving an idle game on for a single hour to give a review is odd behaviour. I've even gone to some other Family Devs games and seen the same exact private accounts giving positive reviews there as well. The only normal review is the only negative one, saying that it wasn't good after 20 minutes of play and I tend to agree with them, the game is a single button and an enormous (and inflated, it seems) amount of waiting. No upgrades, or metaprogression, or interesting interactions at all. So the game has a completely undeserved 92% on Steam, and I found it in my discovery queue and bought it based on the good reviews. I left it on for a day (because it is an idle game, after all) and now I cannot refund, I feel like I have been absolutely scammed. EDIT - Was looking through the devlog, and pretty much all the features other than "cute creatures exist!" are complete lies? "Rank them up to unlock new powers." "Legendary creatures unlock unique abilities and animations." "Different creatures bring unique passive bonuses—some boost your income, while others unlock special effects." "Diverse Creatures: Every pull can surprise you with a new addition to your collection, each with its own style and passive bonus." The use of emdashes has not gone unnoticed, they are probably using ChatGPT to make their devlogs, and the AI is hallucinating features that never existed. As far as I can tell none of these are true? I've gotten a few legendaries and none of them do anything other than earn passive income, just with a higher amount. You can't rank up creatures, there are no powers, the animations seem exactly the same for legendaries, and passive bonuses don't exist. Also in one of the devlogs it showed that the doubling of price did use to be every 10 pulls, so I have to ask why you made the game infinitely longer by halving it to 5 for no reason? The multiplier ramp up is INSANE and makes the game nearly unplayable. The ONLY THING YOU DO IN THIS GAME is pick up the coins that the creatures drop, and use them to click on the gachapon and a creature comes out. That's it, nothing else. At all.
Nice cute little game! <3<3
