Froggy's Battle

A cute little roguelike that respects your time and is super easy to pick up and play. Seriously, one run is maybe 10 minutes? It's straightforward and you can very easily fall into the "one more run" cycle. I loved this game.

Cute indie roguelike that only has 3/4 movement options depending on your configuration. I preferred the single key turn mode since either the left/right key would let you change direction regardless of where you're headed. The upgrades and their combinations are really fun to try in your runs, though there are only two main categories that you can build, those being magical damage or physical damage. Hunting for achievements was really fun in easy mode since you could get them by defeating bosses or jumping/dashing a certain number of times. The achievements that took me the longest were the time based ones along with "beat hard mode with 5 or more hearts remaining", but they were all doable in the end. For only $2 I think it's definitely worth it since you can grind out a lot of hours hunting for the achievements.

Something about the controls are very disorienting to me. I get nauseous after a few rounds, and it usually hasn't even given me the options needed to win a run or unlock an achievement. I thought this would be a cute little game to enjoy, but it's become physically painful to play and leaves me feeling unrewarded for trying to endure. Pro tip: let people choose their hot keys, and don't force people to use the arrow keys. I use my left hand to control movement in literally every other game... but this one forces me to use my right hand OR cross my arms. Ridiculous.

honestly such a clever game. as simple as it may seem, they clearly put a lot of love into the enemies and power up strategy. the rare items are a blast

Super fun game! Cute animations, interesting mechanics, satisfying progression, catchy soundtrack. One could say that it has quite little content, but you can't really add that much content to a game with such simple premise.
