Frisky Business

Wow, this is short but does require a couple of playthroughs to unlock all the different endings. There is "eye candy" moments but they are less frequent than I expected and if that's what your after, you might be disappointed, as there is no attempt at creating the sexy scene, they just reuse the background scene for what environment the characters are in and then place a floating naked female on the screen. For that sort of stuff, there is better "games" out there. So its really the mystery story and mainly the characters that carry this game. For these sort of games, usually its a random dude getting "trained" or they inherited hotel of some such, or some kind of magical event etc. that causes all the sexual content. So to ground this in a detective story, with yes still, rather too “eager females to meet” but aleast the main character wasn’t the usual nerd type but actually hooking up with this girls due to his magnetism or again, yes the typical dumb blondes was somewhat a refreshing change. But as for the final review, this is a side thumb, if this sort of sexual content visual novel interests you, then this is worth checking out on sale.

Good game, going all the way for the case only is really enjoyable, i'd like a save option so that you can get all the trophies without restarting every time, but all in all a good game.

A short VN where you play hide and seek with a clown and seduce college girls. Is it a worthy treat for amateur P.I.s? Frisky business with Frisk and Charlie. Frisk, an ex-cop turned P.I., and Charlie, a nerdy four-eyes with an uncanny sniffing skill and forensic hobby. Both are part of the newly opened detective agency, looking for clients. The very first case involves a cat lady, but the next one will test their investigative abilities, along with some romance options. As the case progresses, you'll meet several characters, some helpful, some reluctant, but it all depends on how the story unfolds. There are 11 episodes total, and the final scene can be easily reached in less than 2-3 hours depending on your reading speed. However, the numerous choices, three possible romances, and three possible endings encourage multiple playthroughs. As for the story itself, the writing and pacing are ok, but the character development suffers a bit due to the short length of the game. Some elements of the story were left vague, or unexplained and abandoned. Also, certain interactive elements feel underdeveloped, e.g. mobile phone usage, evidence examination, or the sex scenes. More could be done to improve experience and immersion. One more thing I need to mention is the unfriendly user interface and the lack of options that a typical modern vn has. There are only three save slots, but you can only use one of them per game. Worse yet, you can't even save when you want; all saves are automatic and load places you at the start of the most recent episode. Moreover, there is no auto-text option, no skip button, no gallery, no volume regulation, heck, no options at all. This is the first time I've seen a VN that lacks even basic options. This makes the game more unwelcoming, and even frustrating than it needs to be, especially for those who play more than once. Huge negative for such a barebone design. The art of this vn reminds me of Western-style comics. The character art is decent, but the variety of poses and emotions sprites have is very limited. Also, backgrounds look at the best average. On the bright side, the employment of various visual effects embellish the experience a bit. As for the hscenes, they're rather disappointing. The interactive feature feels unnecessary and there is only some boring female nudity shown. Also, no gallery to check it later. Much more could be done here, but could be worse. Music-wise, the jazz genre dominates the experience, which is not a bad choice for this type of story. Some more chilling tunes building the suspense where appropriate can be heard as well. Occasional sound effects are present too. I have no complaints about the audio side. Some visual bugs and disappearing music occur when you skip text too fast, so the game restart might be required to fix this. Overall, despite several design flaws, this VN contains a decent enough story, plus ok art and music. I can easily recommend this title for the fans of simple detective stories, but don't set your bar too high: 5.7/10
