Frisbros is a frisbee throwing game where you must navigate an obstacle course full of hazards, ultimately to place yourself on the fewest shots or quickest time leaderboards. Frisbros is best played in co-op but is still enjoyable in one player mode.

Follow our Curator page, Summit Reviews , to see more high-quality reviews regularly.

🤔Overall Impressions🤔
I enjoyed playing Frisbros in single player mode. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t get the co-op play to work properly. With remote play the game had far too much lag and was unplayable, and we couldn’t get a gamepad with keyboard and mouse to work harmoniously with Parsec. I am reliably informed that it will work though, but just a warning that you may find it difficult to set up. The game would be considerably enhanced if a reliable co-op system could be developed and introduced. Courses get gradually longer and more difficult as you progress and new mechanics are introduced. I wouldn’t say any of the puzzles were particularly difficult or challenging to work out. The game is more akin to an obstacle course than a true puzzle game. You do have to work out how objects react but it doesn’t take long with a bit of trial and error to establish a solution. For example, shooting multiple targets will open doors but if you’re not quick enough they will reset and you’ll have to start again. The timings of these can be quite challenging at first but trying different methods and being quick on the draw will bring success. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2799646232 Other hazards include wind currents that can take your frisbee in all sorts of directions; Switches can open doors or teleport you to new areas on the grid; Gravity fields can swallow your frisbee or knock it off course, but if you skirt around the edges it can act as a catapult and circumvent obstacles; Certain blocks can be smashed by your frisbee often opening areas with enemies in who you must avoid; There are projectiles on some courses that need careful timing to avoid, and even the environment can be a hazard with icy ground making your character slip and slide, and mud slowing your character down, whilst falling in water is an instant death. In normal mode you have no lives to lose, but dying on course loses you a shot and some time, and you respawn in an area close to where you perished. This keeps the game frustration free and flowing. There is also a hardcore mode where respawning is disabled and any damage to your Frisbro or any wayward throw of the disc will result in a restart of the level. Some levels can take up to thirty minutes to complete, with numerous deaths on your first attempt, so it is a very difficult mode to attempt. My understanding was that there were separate leaderboards for normal and hardcore modes but this doesn’t appear to be the case. If this is correct then I don’t see why you would want to play in hardcore mode at all. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2795440863 The most contentious aspect of the game is the control system. You can instantly tell that this is a game designed for co-op play, just because of the way the frisbee needs to be moved between two characters. If each character is controlled by a separate person, then you have none of the difficulties that sometimes the single player experience brings. The control system has been revamped and this helps, but it is still not as easy to control two characters when you’re playing on your own. The difficulty lies in the switching of the characters and getting your brain to work out which character is in play, especially when scenarios are frantic. I had countless deaths when I moved, thinking I was moving player one, when in fact it was player two, or both characters together. The player in control does have a gamepad above his head but I think there is still a little more work to be done to facilitate switching. Perhaps the player in control could flash for a while? The GUI is a little fiddly to use in general. For example, the leaderboard page insists you return to the menu each time you want to view the leaderboard for a particular hole, rather than have an easy way of viewing different hole scores from the same page. Graphics in the game appear quite basic but they have a bright aesthetic and a fun feel about them. There is a different tune playing in the background of each hole which is always nicely done and pleasant to listen to.
🎬Gameplay Video🎬
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfWB-51yE3g&t=593s
🕹️Gameplay🕹️

Working as a team, your two Frisbros pass the disc between them, whilst avoiding hazards, attempting to reach the end of the course. Once your disc is deposited in the receptacle situated at the finale, your shot count and time is recorded on the two leaderboards. The top fifty names are recorded and there are separate leaderboards for single and co-op runs.

🏃♀️Movement🏃♂️
You can move both players at the same time, if nobody has the disc, or one player if the disc has been caught. Switching between one or the other, or using both, is controlled by using the trigger buttons on your gamepad or you can use mouse and keyboard. It takes a bit of getting used to in single player mode.
💿Disc Throwing💿
When a Frisbros wants to pass the disc to another player he uses a charge bar to judge how long he wants to throw it. A perfect pass will result when you stop the sliding bar in the green area of the charge bar. This makes the disc go further and faster. There is a cancel shot option if you need it. Sometimes, you’ll need subtleness and perform short passes, and sometimes you’ll need to bounce your disc off walls to avoid obstacles. Your disc throw can be affected by many things including wind currents, gravity and trampolines, and will bounce off obstacles and ricochet. Objects can be moved out of the way, clearing a path for your throw, but I found this to be incredibly difficult using the gamepad. The movement is so sensitive, and it is so easy to shoot past the object whilst pushing it, that I often died if the object was near water. If you fire your disc, and the disc goes out of bounds or drops to the ground before one of you can reach it, then you’ll receive a penalty which goes on your shot score and costs you a bit of time. You can also throw the disc to yourself, which is a useful tactic to pursue, but your other player must never get too far away from you. If you separate for more than ten seconds, the level must be restarted.
➖Varied Gameplay➖
There are eighteen holes, that gain complexity as you progress, and there is even a boss fight towards the end. The holes are varied enough that you never feel things are getting repetitive. New mechanics are always being introduced. That is why your first run of every hole will certainly be the longest, as you will need to work out how to navigate the course and tackle the light puzzle elements in them. None of the courses provided a stern challenge, but occasionally I had to stop and think about things, and going for quick times and low shot counts does sometimes require planning.
🍳Conclusion🍳

Frisbros is an enjoyable game for both single players and co-op teams but I would suggest it is probably more fun played in co-op. There is a slight doubt about whether you’ll be able to get the game working in co-op as it relies on third party software, as co-op is not built into the game. Otherwise, it’s a Fun, addictive and enjoyable game with an upbeat feel and enough variety to keep you wanting more. Especially appealing if you like leaderboards and trying to improve your score.
It looks a bit 'indie', but it is a genuinely fun game with interesting mechanics :)
A friend and I came into this game thinking this was going to be like a golf game, and I'm happy that we were wrong about that assumption. It was more in depth than we expected. The throwing mechanics are solid and most of the characters are fun to play and the ones that you don't like you don't have to play long because you can switch easily. Here is some extra info that might help. -Takes about 3 hours or less with 2 people -Played 2 player co-op using Parcec and Steam Remote Play. Parcec was hands down the better way to play if you wanted to play online with and friend. Bonus: You only need one copy of the game to play co-op. -Played mouse and keyboard and switched to a Xbox controller (it also supports Playstation controllers.) I found that the controller felt better and if wanted to switch back to mouse and keyboard it was smooth and the settings changed right away. This is a nice chill game that I'd recommend to anyone that just wants to relax and solve some puzzles on the weekend and have a nice sense of accomplishment after beating it. Last thing. Unlock the hidden character he is a beast
A fris-breath of fresh air. So, I'm no good at formatting proper reviews, but I received this key as part of its Keymailer campaign. It jumped out to me because I'm a huge, huge fan of top-down, pixel shooters like Total Carnage, Smash Tv, Hotline Miami etc. Hell, idk if Midway's Gauntlet counts(?) but i'll throw it in there. I gave this game a run one night, seeing if it would be worth streaming alone, it was. It absolutely was. So, at the time of this review, you have single and multiplayer campaigns with a good chunk of solid dungeons. You got a good range of bros to choose from, all different stats, which you unlock by passing to them mid-level (for a free stroke, dont quote me on that) frisbee cosmetics, voice emotes/quips and a couple secrets to dig for. About 90% of my time with this game has been spent onstream playing alone and trying to split my brain to use two characters at once, it's pushed me to want to get through each dungeon faster each time I boot up. The amount of love that went into this little game impressed me, for what it's worth. By the time I made it to stage 8, I had been nodding along to the music, naming characters, trying to calculate how to make the frisbee follow a trail to avoid bombs. It's a constantly evolving adventure which tested me to the umpteenth degree. If you enjoy bullet hells with friends and puzzles, this is for you. When playing alone, you can move them individually or together, but they stop when in possession of the disc- which is where a lot of brainstorming began for me. An aside: been in contact with the dev of this, he's very friendly and supportive if you need help with levels/bugs/tricks. One of the kindest dudes I've had the pleasure of meeting. There is one last character I haven't unlocked yet...I'll get him eventually. There were moments onstream where I felt absolutely defeated by the number of times I dropped. I would be so hurt. You just have to clear the levels with both your bros, then return on a second attempt for perfection. Nicholas was a big supporter seeing me waste 20 full minutes trying to recreate the perfect U-turn. Much love, will keep this in my weekly rotation. 1000% recommend.
Played recently on stream with a friend and had an absolute blast! Really fun and unique puzzle idea and each level felt different and challenging. Could do with a few updates but a great laugh with a mate for a few hours. If you want to see my review head over to Twitch and give me a follow @TheKraken_King. https://www.twitch.tv/thekraken_king
Frisbros is a 2D retro pixel top down "shooter" from itch, with a twist, instead of "shooting" you're throwing a flying disk between players... that's really all there is to it. Not much of a twist, but the golf swing mechanics of the flying disk "work", I suppose. So that's something. The rest of it, unfortunately, is a train wreck. The graphics are terrible, by the way... and they're asset flipped from a Unity dungeon tileset from Itch. Which I guess explains why medieval knights are throwing frisbee's around. I understand developers who can't make their own assets resort to flipping, but why can't they at least flip decent looking Unity assets for a change? From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game only ever reached a peak player count of just four (4!!) players. This is a pitiful enough number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason. Frisbros is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
Cool little indie game here! It's a shame though that this game doesn't have any more reviews! Men and my childhood friend are fans of old school games! We had a blast playing this game! Sure this game has some minor flaws here and there but in overall there is nothing game breaking! I even got to talk with the Dev during a stream and he was very open to opinions and you see that the developer care for his game as he already release a few patch notes! The only thing I could say about this game is that we found the game maybe lacking in terms of number of levels. Sure you have the hardcore mode too but this is essentially the same levels but with an upgraded difficulties. I would have like to see either more tougher holes (exemple add more holes, add some trash to the ground, etc.) A more hardcore mode would have been good to! Nonethe less the game has great potential and i'm sure that if there's enough love for his game the dev will work towards making his game even better!! Keep up the good work!! Now I must go back trying to do that last hole in Hardcore difficulty with 0 drops! :D P.S: If you ever want to ssee the game in action come watch my vgameplay videos on twitch! I often play with my friend and we are achievement hunters! ^^ See ya! https://www.twitch.tv/freezeman42
Fun game that surprisingly worked really well on the Steam Deck no issues at all. Really liked the music.
Engaging, dynamic and fun indie game! One of my personal favorites especially playing coop with a friend
Incredibly simple yet endlessly fun game. The levels are challenging but rewarding and the overall experience is delightful. Everything about this game is cleverly thought through with a tireless focus on a positive user experience. Love playing this on the couch with my friends. My favorite level is the one with the frogs!
