The only customization option is the resolution/ Even then I had to do some play around to get it to do what I wanted it to. Some of the most frustrating parts to me where a lack of a quick reset and the game audio. The first level is a time trial- checkpoint race. The only way to play any other part of the game is to beat the first level within 60 seconds. However, there doesn't seem to be a way to instantly reset the level if you mess up. In fact you have to return to the main menu and re-select the level you wish you play. My main problem with the audio is about the checkpoint delay in level one. When you pass through a checkpoint, it plays a noise to verify that you made it through. If I'm doing a time trail that I'll need to retry multiple times, I want to save as much time as possible. Both of these hinder that and make it that much less enjoyable. I don't have much time in this game at the time of this review and while I do plan on putting a little more time into it, I don't expect any of the results from this initial review to change.
*I would not have considered buying this without heavy discount and even then, I read the other reviews and already knew what I was getting myself into. Tread with caution!*

Gerçekten gereksiz bir oyun.
FreeFly Burning, developed by ZGold and published by Conglomerate 5, is an indie action-flight title built around an unconventional concept: piloting a spherical drone through a variety of mission-based challenges. Rather than presenting a traditional aircraft simulator or a narrative-driven campaign, the game focuses on arcade-style objectives that revolve around movement precision, environmental interaction, and occasional combat. The core appeal lies in mastering the drone’s physics-driven controls while navigating diverse scenarios that test timing, awareness, and adaptability. At its foundation, FreeFly Burning centers on freeform aerial movement. Players guide a hovering orb-like craft across 3D environments, completing objectives that range from racing through checkpoints to destroying objects such as fuel barrels and environmental targets. Some missions introduce light combat elements, including dodging incoming projectiles or deploying bombs to clear obstacles. The flight model leans more toward arcade handling than simulation realism, making it accessible for newcomers but occasionally lacking the tight responsiveness expected from more polished flight-action titles. This balance between accessibility and imprecision defines much of the gameplay experience. The mission structure is segmented rather than continuous. Instead of a cohesive campaign with narrative progression, the game presents standalone objectives across different modes. This design creates variety on paper, offering time-based challenges, destruction-focused tasks, and obstacle navigation scenarios. However, because these missions are loosely connected and lack a broader narrative framework, the experience can feel episodic. The absence of a strong contextual backdrop means that motivation to progress stems primarily from challenge completion rather than story-driven curiosity. Steam achievements add a layer of replay incentive, encouraging players to optimize their performance and meet specific milestones. Visually, FreeFly Burning adopts a straightforward 3D presentation. The environments are functional and designed to accommodate the game’s flight mechanics, featuring structures, terrain, and destructible elements that serve gameplay purposes. While the visual design allows for clear navigation and interaction, it does not emphasize high-detail artistry or advanced graphical effects. Explosions and environmental reactions provide moments of visual engagement, but overall production values remain modest. Adjustable graphics settings help maintain accessibility across different hardware setups, aligning with its indie scope. Audio design complements the action with standard sound effects tied to movement, weapon usage, and environmental destruction. The soundtrack remains understated, providing background accompaniment without drawing significant attention. Like the visuals, the audio fulfills its functional role but does not emerge as a defining feature of the experience. Where FreeFly Burning tends to divide players is in its depth and refinement. While the concept of controlling a spherical drone through varied challenges is distinctive, the execution can feel uneven. Controls sometimes lack precision, which can amplify frustration during time-sensitive tasks. The mission design, though varied, may not sustain long-term engagement due to repetition and limited progression systems. Without narrative hooks or expansive customization options, replay value largely depends on a player’s willingness to refine performance within existing challenges. Ultimately, FreeFly Burning stands as a small-scale indie experiment that blends arcade flight mechanics with mission-based action. Its unusual premise and range of objectives provide moments of casual enjoyment, particularly for players interested in unconventional drone-based gameplay. However, the absence of polish, cohesive storytelling, and deeper progression systems limits its broader appeal. For those seeking a brief, low-commitment flight-action diversion, it may offer intermittent fun, but players expecting refined mechanics or sustained engagement may find its ambitions constrained by execution. Rating: 4/10
Honest, serviceable shovelware. Polished enough to work just fine. The main difficulty is in each level's janky gimmicks, but nothing is impossible with enough repetition. The game is too small, unsophisticated, feature-deficient, and ugly to recommend, but it's definitely more of a game than a trap. Feels like more of a middle school project than a serious attempt at gamedev.
