About
You are the captain of a Unified Earth Forces starship, leading daring combat missions deep into enemy territory. Fight in space and on the ground as you spearhead the assault, establish vital footholds, and pave the way for Marine landing forces. Engage in ship-to-ship combat, build bases on planet surfaces, and shred enemies with turrets and your assault rifle alike. Turn the tide in a war for humanity's survival.
Test your skills as a starship captain as you evade hostile fire, strafe alien cruisers, and escort allied ships during fleet battles. Blast incoming missiles with your ship's point-defense turret and strike hard with your railguns. Dominate the fight and secure victory.
Think strategically as you deploy barriers, turrets, gates, and barbed wire on hostile planets to safeguard against relentless waves of enemies. Or, if it's been a long day, maybe you can just build a wall of turrets. The enemy will get the message. Each planet has unique characteristics, but the objective is almost always the same: create a secure zone to allow our Marines to land safely. After reinforcements arrive and you've succeeded in your mission, you can toggle Endless Mode to activate nonstop enemy attacks. Keep coming back to the planet to work on your base and fight off this relentless assault!
Fortified Space offers more than just adrenaline-pumping combat. Take a break from the fight to walk around your ship, talk to your crew, and read the news articles that update after each mission. Gather materials for your next mission through asteroid mining, hydroponic farming, and composting. You can even kick around a soccer ball or play a target-shooting arcade game.

zombs.io but instead of an idle game you afk on, there's more to do. The ship between missions makes me really wish this was a $20+ game with $20+ worth of content attached to modifying the ship / building your own, but for the price this is great. Maybe make the fleet battle missions optional, update the UI with a little more art even if it keeps the mspaint aesthetic and this is a 20/10 base building time consumer.
Liked: Art style, blocky placement of base assets feels rugged, cannons feel satisfying, navigating from mission to mission is engaging. Sort of like Mass Effect in going from different stations on your ship to brief mission, travel there, and disembark. Disliked: Unlocking base assets requires waiting in one spot. Not fun when there are resources waiting to be collected. I find this game endearing. It has a fun gameplay loop and it is already fun to build a big base. You can tell that when there is more unlock, more to build, and more things to shoot at, this will be an exciting, multi-faceted game.
EA Review: Nifty retro hybrid game. Planetside battles are a frantic race for resources while completing side objectives & defending. Vehicles are fun too. Fleet battles are a tad clunky & repetitive. If you're keen for some Newgrounds-style Flash nostalgia, check it out. The planet battles are frantic and fun if a little drawn out. They include vehicles, resource collecting, base building, and base defence. Space battles need work but the game's just released in EA so I'm sure they'll improve with time. As pure and kindhearted a solo project can be. Its artstyle is endearing and imbued with love, its ship and ground gameplay creative and fun. Absolutely worth the miniscule asking price for what the game is and will be, with the bonus of supporting a person and their passion!
This game is honestly really good, there is a huge amount of passion and love put into it and it is clearly shown. the gameplay is simple but fun and most missions have a gimmick that makes it different to others. Not to mention the developer is actively taking in feedback to improve the game which is always great.
