About

Forest of Deceit is a Jackbox-esque social deduction game for 4 to 8 players. You are part of a group lost in a dark, treacherous forest that seems to go on forever and ever. You can’t find any escape, and there’s a storm brewing on the horizon - a storm so massive that you all will surely perish if you can’t build a solid shelter before it arrives. Every day you explore the forest to gather resources with which to build your shelter. But the forest itself is cursed, slowly driving people into a traitorous madness; it’s surely already got a hold on some of your friends’ minds… or maybe even yours. If you don’t figure out who’s sabotaging the efforts to build a shelter, you all are going to be swept away. On the other hand, if you happen to be the Traitor and they find you, you could get kicked out of the group - for good.
And best of all? All of it is narrated by Sylvester McCoy! (The 7th Doctor in Doctor Who! Radagast in The Hobbit!)

From the minds of Ghost Camp and Thomas Mackinnon (creator of THE CORRIDOR and It Takes a War) comes Forest of Deceit, a back-stabbing experience about trying to survive a storm and betraying your friends. With a beautiful hand-drawn art style and a focus on casual play and social interaction, this party game is perfect for all kinds - from teenagers to grandpas, hardcore players to someone who’s never played a game in their life.
Each day, gathering parties are assigned to go deep into the forest for resources. Innocents will try to gather useful resources whereas Traitors will try to hinder the group’s advances with bad resources and try to get other players lost in the accursed woods. When the results of the day’s gathering are revealed, the group can discuss what happened - and after a few days there will even be a daily vote to expel suspected Traitors from the group. If the Innocents can build the shelter in time, they win! If not… it’s a victory for treachery.

Gather resources to build a shelter against the upcoming storm. If you are a Traitor, you will try to get other people lost in the forest, and hinder the group’s efforts by collecting bad resources.
Discuss what happened, and eventually start voting suspect Traitors out. If the Traitors can prevent the Innocents building a shelter in time, they win.

I may have lost the trust of the friend group, but at least we all got swept away in the storm together :) Delightful game to put on the TV at a hang out where everyone trusts each other a bit too much and it's time to put a stop to that. Always a win to rope friends into a new game when they don't need to buy a copy straight away. But they always end up with their own copy in the end (: 10/10 the art, music and tense decision moments make a wonderful atmosphere
Really fun party game with lots of room for replayability. I haven't messed around with the advanced options (yet) but it feels worth the asking price. Give it a go.

Art style and music passes the spooky ambience vibe check with flying monochromatic colours which gives a unique backdrop to the social deduction format. Traitor experience is S-tier and lets you spark all of the unproductive and hilarious bickering you'd want it to - using some of the Secret H special sauce in the gameplay means you aren't just a helpless observer as a non-traitor. We normally play on someone else's device but wanted to buy the game just to give it a good review!
Trust no one. Especially Dave. (Sorry if your name is Dave.) If you like Jackbox or deduction games, this is an easy recommendation. Plus the music and art style create a playful but tense atmosphere...just what you need to point a finger at your best friends!
Amazing wee game! Clearly a labour of love!! I now have no trust in my friends but thats the fun of it!
It's good, the whole family loves it. Would like to see the character avatars randomized with each game (first player is always the blue haired lady, etc.) or let you pick when you start.
cool 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄❤️
very fun! played this with my friends and we had a good time playing through the rounds, hoping to play some more !!
A lot of work has gone into this and you can really tell. It's officially part of my party rotation.
this is just friendslop, it's only fun because it's good
