- boot up game - clear the tutorial - Clear the first stage - get stuck on stage 2 - give up
I like the art. I really appreciate the little mini art book thats basically included, but sad to get to the bottom of it just to see that chatgpt was used to help coding of the game. Not too happy about that, but I dont want the devs to feel too bad about it hope it wont be used in the future games. I didnt really get too far in it before I gave up the difficulty is punishing with 3 live system, still jumping, one hit and off screen deaths. Id still recommend for people to try it since it is for free and for those who can actually beat it hope they will like it

I'll recommend it but barely. I understand that it's intended to be an 'old school game', but it’s punishing to the point of being annoying. - You only get 3 lives, and then it’s back to the beginning. Hope you enjoy replaying the early levels over and over just so you can get 3 tries (at best) at the later levels. - Every level has a 60 second timer. It's enough if you know what to do and where to go, but you barely get any time to practice later levels. - It’s way too easy to get softlocked on stairs and under platforms. Your only option then is to wait out the timer and lose a life (after one too many softlocks I ended up downloading a cheat tool and gave myself unlimited lives; which made the game way more enjoyable). - Hitboxes feel too big and clunky. On the plus side, I liked the art style and the movement is alright.
"FOREMAN FRENZY!" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is by and large an unabashed ripoff of old arcade games, essentially Donkey Kong meets Mario Bros (not Super Mario Bros, just Mario Bros, a much simpler platform arena action arcade game). It does look authentic, and that's a problem because we can already play those old arcade games in emulators, so why do we need a new obsolete game?? Oh yeah, we don't. Needless to say, in light of that, this was a huge failure here on Steam Direct. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. This was made with the godawful "GameMaker Studio" construction kit/toolset, which is popular amongst amateur developers because it handholds you through making really crap 2D games that you can publish for $100 on Steam Direct for nobody to play. But you can feel good about pretending to be a published game developer, which is why there's so many of these dead games. GameMaker Studio has never really been used to make a truly successful game, but that doesn't stop people from trying and failing. It's a particularly bad game engine that can only be used for making low quality 2D products. Like this. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, as the old saying goes. Another reason this wasn't successful. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.
A pretty fun and simple platformer that I played five minutes of before throwing because I constantly got stuck on ledges and platforms. If you don't squarely move up certain ladders and make completely clean jumps you will likely end up stuck and unable to proceed. There is no save function, so I just had to wait until the time expired to try again.
good game but some changes like going down , ar ladder climbing fixing could make it bettery soft.
