Floor 13: Deep State

I really wanted this game to be good, its not. Don't make same mistake as I did, don't buy it. Hell don't even get it for free. I regret spending my time on this.

Having tried to struggle through for nearly five hours, I have to admit that the other reviews of this (conceptually brilliant) game are accurate. The mathematics underpinning win/loss are broken, and the randomised selection of cases you are handed determine win or loss regardless of how good your decision making is. I restarted my game, and took careful note of my exposure and popularity values (which must both be monitored to prevent loss). I also used the best guides available and forum postings for reference. The game handed me cases that, if acted upon would inevitably lead me to be exposed, and if not acted upon would tank the popularity meter leading to a loss. No actual victory strategy existed. As such, there's no point playing the game when you can simply roll a handful of dice and consider yourself a winner if they all come up 6s. Very pretty, dripping with atmosphere, but essentially not a game.

A good above average game, but several almost "self-imposing" solutions were wasted during developement i hope a patch or DLC will repair this in the future because i like this game. I think all complains were already made by other users so i'll leave it at that. If you like a easy to learn spy game, or a political thriller this will be a good game for you.

I do think this game has been unfairly maligned. If you played the original then this is a modern version of that, basically and admin em'up where you order all sorts of shady actions to try and keep the government ahead in the polls. It is pretty unforgiving so be warned. The scenarios a great though. I don't know if there will be any further updates for this but maybe a "story mode" where you can stay in post even if you are behind in the polls would be good. For any Steam Deckers this does work on Deck.

Dead game. no more support since 2022 and game still broken. What a fraud

Last update was July/2021 but many bugs were reported by people who bought the game... so I guess this game was abandoned. You won't be able to finish the game with those bugs.

My experience with this game runs directly counter the negative reviews I posted here. This game is actually pretty damn good! It looks like the developer addressed all of the issues noted by previous reviewers. And yes, the game is difficult, but who wants a win handed to them? Oh, and there's a new campaign now. Don't sleep on this gem!

The game is good. It tried it's best to mimic the original with some success. Needs work and a better price point.

+ I really like the setting of the game. + I've played the original Floor 13, bought it in the Virgin Interactive Box, together with Dune and Lure of the Temptress + The graphics of the original game were really neat. - The graphics in this game are mixed. Some stuff looks really cool, while other stuff looks really blurry/broken. - The transition between screens takes to much time. IMHO you should be able to remove/disable the transitions.
