FlickSync - Mad Hatter VR 10 из 10
FlickSync - Mad Hatter VR is a free VR experience. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index HMD system to a point. I am looking at the Mad Hatter character in a chair and hear him saying hello several ways, see a text window with microphone saying "Hello there" We are sitting in a forest clearing. I say Hello there till i am blue in the face, nothing happens. Closed the game and researched this. Check my microphone on my HTC Vive, changed the settings to always on and test my microphone and it is set at 100%. I can hear myself in my headset speakers just fine. Tried the game again, said "hello there" in multiple voices. Then i try cursing and making other noises. The sound detection is not working in this game. Game is unplayable. Update Jan. 2020, tried this again on my newer Win 10 system, still does NOT work. Update Sept. 2024, tried this again on my newer Win 11 system, still does NOT work. Don't bother downloading.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers.
Note: make sure you have your headset mic setup to 100% volume within HMD settings So this is something new to VR I suppose, but it's not really executed well at all. In this app/game you basically speak lines of dialogue into your mic from a set VR scene for one of the three characters in the scene (there is a 4th character, but you're not given an option to do their lines). Doing all the characters voiced lines took me a total of 16 minutes. So basically the entire scene is about 5 minutes long. You have the option to do beginner mode, where you just read the lines. The best score I got in beginner mode was 98% and I have no idea why I didn't get 100%. You can also do assisted mode, which is just yelling "line" after you're prompted for your dialogue and then the scripted dialogue will appear. I imagine the Mad Hatter would definitely choose the assisted option. The last option is hard mode where you have to memorize the lines. I guess choose this option if you always wanted to voice lines from a scene taken from a novel in your mom's basement, but you cannot act and have photographic memory. You can choose the dialogue and point of view of either Alice, Mad Hatter, or the March Hare. Only Alice's point of view seemed to be right on the seat and correctly positioned during my playthrough. The Mad Hatter and March Hare's view was behind the seat for some odd reason, even though Alice's was correctly positioned. The animations are not that well done. The VR environment is below average as well. The voice detecton / speech recognition is also less than stellar. I suspect maybe this app is really the NSA trying to get voice samples from Steam users for probable nefarious reasons. If so, well played NSA. Rate 4/10. I mean if you really love Alice in Wonderland, maybe download ... No! No, it will at least dampen your love for Alice in Wonderland.... If you are just bored out of your mind and want to waste some time, then this free app is worth the download, othewise it is not.

I love the concept! I would not recommend it in its current state. This would be terrific in multiplayer VR. Hopefully they will implement watching back your scene after acting it out. The environments need anti-aliasing. The speech recognition is woeful. What accent am I supposed to use? I tried American, British nd Australian. I still had to repeat myself several times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwZqJZejqCc
Amazing idea, but the speech recognition is awful. I don't know if these are lines from the book but you should add modes in the future where you can say what you want. This is the idea I have wanted to be perfected for so long. But you can barely pass this demo as playable... Though if you sort out the speech recognition, turn on the timer in a challenge mode and have a relax mode (where you don't need to rush) bump up the graphics, have the lines more like karaoki and have it focus on individual words you say and add a choice of what you can say then I will revisit. Much improvement to be made but it's a start in the right direction.
This game is such a giant heap of trash I want to take my throat and create a meaningful relationship with a noose. This game is beyond terrible and beyond saving give up. THIS IS AWFUL. The dude that greeted you in the beginning was not only rude but seemed to be mentally handicapped as well he was rocking back and forth on a chair that didn't even rock which is a sign of autism sorry to say... This game had one redeeming quality and that was the music. ♥♥♥♥ was fire. Stick to making beats because Vr games are obviously not your strong suit. P.S the lady in your trailer. Not gonna lie. Was bad as hell. If you dont mind I'd love to get that love muffins numba.
The VR quality is good, but I did have problems with some audio recognition and overall, I didn't find it that interesting.
Cool concept, obviously rough but can totally imagine this being used for other VR games!
