About
FLAG-O-TRON is a new kind of deckbuilding with flags and chess pieces.
Easy to pick up, deeply tactical as it unfolds — a flagbuilder that combines the recognizable structure of a roguelike with an original combo-building mechanic, offering dozens of unique decisions in every run.
No cards — just flags. No hand — just a board, where you create winning combos.
Every turn is a decision. Every combo is a step toward victory — or defeat.
Use chess pieces to move flags across the board, unlock new slots in the shop, and upgrade your deck.
Build your strategy, boost your flags with modifiers, discover rare upgrades, and create high-value chains.
At the end of each round, you’ll face a boss. Who it’ll be is a mystery — maybe one that wipes all upgrades from your active flags. Or one that turns every piece into a pawn, cutting off your control.
Each boss comes with unique effects and interferes with the core mechanics, changing the rules mid-game. Sometimes they’ll block movement, reset your score, strip away upgrades, or destroy key parts of the board. With every encounter, you’ll need to rethink your strategy on the fly — adapt or lose.
FLAGOTRON offers a structured, well-designed gameplay loop with high replayability.
Tactical flag placement and thoughtful combo-building
Chess piece mechanics to interact with the board and unlock progress
An upgrade system that changes flag properties and point output
Between-run progression and expanding pool of available tools
Bosses with unique debuffs that reshape each run
High replayability: every run brings new conditions, choices, and strategies
Discover your own path to victory — through upgrades, risk, precision, or unexpected synergies
Every run is a fresh set of rules, chances, and choices.
There’s no universal strategy — but there’s always that one move that can change everything.
A Great Time
This is a wonderful game to play either casually and strategically. The rules are quite simple, building upon various familiar tropes like chess, but the strategies can get deeply complex. This game combines my love of vexillology, math, chess and watching numbers get bigger. The most obvious comparison is Balatro, but while the two games are undeniably similar, this is a unique perspective on the multiplier number go up genre that you will be sorry if you miss out on.
DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS ONE, IT IS A GAME TO WATCH
Disclosure: I received a free review copy of this product from https://www.keymailer.co
Saw this game referenced on r/vexillology, and had to try it out, Very Intuitive, but Complexity shows itself very quickly as well! The Chess-piece moving mechanic is wonderful, and adds a layer of strategy to how/when you play your flags, and in what order. The Shop mechanic is also very intuitive and interactive, and clearly there is a lot of complexity & strategy left for me to learn! If you Like Balatro, 1 Deck Dungeon, or any other Deck-Building Roguelikes, you will certainly like this game!
A fun little balatro-style roguelite with an interesting positioning mechanic and plenty of synergy abilities to apply. Definitely do the tutorial!
Игра залипательная, задумка и реализация на высоком уровне. Слишком легко на начальных уровнях сложности, но для обучения самое то. Своих денег определённо стоит.
