Maybe the most underrated source game of all time. Despite a hefty amount of jank and a tiny playerbase the game is just fun man. There aren't many good cowboy games out there and even fewer with multiplayer, so this is very much a one of a kind experience. It isn't just a standard shooter with a cowboy coat of paint, weapons are slow to shoot and reload, so creative use of movement and melee options is basically required for playing at anything above the most basic level. You're rewarded for pulling off cool combos or making risky moves, so trying out all the different weapons and abilities is encouraged. It's a good thing, then, that pretty much all of the weapons (with a few notable exceptions) are satisfying and at least situationally useful. You can dome people from across the map with a single shot rifle or slide up to them with a double barrel, and both are viable, fun, and skillful. The jank is real with this one, however. The movement and shooting mechanics take some getting used to, as moving while shooting basically guarantees that you'll miss even at point blank range. The hit detection can also be pretty wonky, especially with melee weapons which can really undercut a lot of the fun of using them in combos. There's also just not much in the way of content. This isn't a huge deal for such a small game but as of now the only really active servers are deathmatch arenas that are fun but don't give you the kind of team strategizing you'll see in a more modern shooter. This can lead to the game feeling repetitive, which is only alleviated by the wide variety of builds and the high skill ceiling. It's free so you can't really go wrong. I've seen a slight resurgence in interest in this game recently so who knows, maybe it'll get more attention. I sure hope the devs keep refining their creation because it's already way more fun than it has any right to be.

i got a fistful of frags and uh... uhm... i dunno... also, fun fact, the map fof_fistful is a reference to the town of El Paso in the Clint Eastwood's "For a Few Dollars More". Not only that, but the name Fistful of Frags is a reference to Clint's OTHER spaghetti western, "Fistful of Dollars". ALSO, the native american cardboard cutout targets are pulled from TGTBTU!
Best casual shooter / aim trainer on the market the terrible physics are part of the charm and if you don’t like it delete steam and hang yourself commie
If this game waws called fistful of frogs it'd have frogs in it

Note : ★★★★☆
