About
Welcome to Finnish Cottage 8, a classic summer cottage in the woods so peaceful you’d never want to leave!
Finnish Cottage 8 is a walking simulator set in a mökki (summer cottage), a beloved staple of Finnish summer life. Equipped with an obligatory sauna and a classic Finnish weather forecast radio program, this game will transport you to the tranquility of summer in the Land of A Thousand Lakes.

But in this cottage, something sinister stirs where your eyes don't reach.
Observe carefully and you may find your way out.
The bad news is, you are not the first to attempt an escape...
The good news is, you are not the first to attempt an escape!
A secret organisation has been investigating this cottage, and their efforts left behind certain convenient tools. This laptop will help you identify which loop you are in.

If you see an anomaly, leave through the back door (marked with "Anomalies" tape).
If you don’t see an anomaly, leave through the front door.
If you are right, the loop number goes up by 1.
If you are wrong, you’ll return to Loop 0.
Once the number reaches 8, the cottage may let you go....

I've found 28 anomalies so far and the game keeps me going to find all of them. It's pretty interesting idea, I like such puzzles. It's not only fun, but also trains my focus.
Lovely game with a nice challenge! Hope you make more in the future!
- Very positive surprise in anomaly games i have played lot of them and got lot of boring/not so good games but this is maybe even much better than my previous favorite anomaly game "cabin factory" so its very nice surprise to play through. - graphics/lightning etc. are super nice looking like a photograph sometimes which is nice on this type of pay attention to details game. - Nice amount of different anomalies some easy or very funny anomalies to spot, some harder to spot etc. very nice balance. - Atmosphere is very good on summer cabin in night and it`s beautiful looking. - Because this is maybe best anomaly game that i have played so far and this genre got lot of worse anomaly games need to give easily 9/10 on this and very recommended if you like anomaly games or if you don`t it still very nice to play.
It is my first cottage anomaly game, and I enjoyed it a lot. The atmosphere is rather relaxed with some anomalies bringing up a laugh thanks to their creativity and placement. The Finnish vibe of a dark cottage is well communicated and is a great highlight of this game. It would be nice if the radio could play some different programs or music during the game. However, after a few rounds it turns into a comforting white noise. Some of the anomalies are hard to spot, some are extremely easy. I managed to fail twice on the seventh round although getting there was quick.
I have played a lot of these "anomaly hunting" games and was hoping this would a unique twist or at least something different, sadly with Finnish Cottage 8, this wasn't the case. For those of you new to these games, you must memorise your surroundings and look for anything you feel looks odd or out of place, when you have decided anomaly found or not, you leave the area via one of the exits, one exit is for nothing found, the other is if you found an anomaly. Guess correctly, the counter goes up 1, incorrectly you reset the loop, the count to win is 8. While everything the game does is solid, the anomalies range from "blatantly obvious" to "OMG Where on earth is it?" and the look of the game was well done, the cottage inside and out looks great, the lighting effects look nice, the limited sound effects that include, things like static from the TV and a crackling fireplace were good, there is no music but there is a radio broadcasting in Finnish which I couldn't turn off the second time I played. There are a couple of creepy anomalies that can kill you so be careful. I have played so many of these, one of others I played that stood out had 3 unique levels, this one has the same single area to walk through every time and while the game isn't a bad game, I completed it under 30 minutes with 5 out of 36 anomalies found, there is no real reason to return, unless you feel compelled to hunt down every anomaly and unlock every steam achievement. For the first time ever, I actually escaped the loop while reviewing the game live on stream, this has never happened before but may suggest that maybe, some of the anomalies were a little too easy or too obvious to spot. The games price is very cheap at just under £5 but I would suggest you wait for a sale, for those of you who have never played an anomaly hunting game before, this could be a good place to start, but there are lots of them available on steam so have a good search and see if any are on sale, just so you can try one out. A really well made game. This game made me doubt things that didn't even change and made me feel like i was losing my mind. 10/10 i recommend.
Solid anomaly game!
Interesting setting, good clearing speed, nice mix of obvious and subtle anomalies.
7/10 Гарна гра про аномалії, не складні аномалії, проходити менше за годину
Great game! By far the scaries part was
when the finnish flag turned into swedish flag o.o
