Great game but do NOT BUY THIS GAME ON STEAM, I have been locked out of my account for years and can not create a new one, and resetting my password through customer support has been a process thats taken almost 25 emails to ATTEMPT to fix, and even then after that process I'm locked out with my new ID and Password for suspicious activity, if you don't want to have to buy this game twice, buy it directly from the FFXIV store and pray to god you never have to reset your password

Do not get attached to your free trial account because you can't purchase the game to convert it to a paid account later at least I could not. If you want to play this game use there official app instead.

One of my top 3 MMO's. I'd honestly put it above WoW because they haven't fallen off to a different game. What I mean by that is FFXIV has been pretty much the same game with amazing and fun content added for years. Yeah some of the DLC's aren't always as good as we want them to be but to be quite honest It's been one of the most stable and consistent MMO's to date. I like how you can "solo" most of the game, except for story required dungeons. Lifeskilling is fun and lucrative, and just hanging around, joining a guild is also just as fun. I don't ever mind subbing to FFXIV because it's honestly always worth it, I always come back to this one.

I tried to return to the game after a few years because I wanted to try the game again and got stuck trying to log in. I got confused with the way the account system worked, the way it links to steam and in the end locked myself out of my account even though I had a paying subscription. I've played several MMOs in the past and never had such a terrible experience trying to log into a game. If you want to play this game DO NOT buy it through steam or you might lose your account like I did. In the end I gave up and went back to playing World of warcraft.

We have to pay 700kr 70euro per 180 days to play this game AFTER initially paying for it. absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ greedy ass company. Go ♥♥♥♥ Yourselves

This is another in a long list of MMOs that makes all the wrong decisions to pad out the game time. For how insanely long this game is the dungeons are too few and far between. Not that the dungeons are good anyways because every single piece of content in this game is mind-numbingly easy. This is a turn your brain off and press the buttons for 300 hrs kind of game. You don't even need to think about what buttons to press either because the game literally highlights what abilities to use in which order so your brain will rarely come into play here. Beyond the combat being easy a vast majority of this game is traveling through a boring, lifeless world to talk to a character who then gives you a task to travel to another town to talk to another character. Guess what that character wants you to do? Travel to another town and talk to another character. The dialogue is actually pretty well written, it's just the VOLUME of it and lack of substance. In the 33 hrs I've played there was ONE interesting story event that actually surprised me. Then the game immediately went back to being boring again. The few good moments this game has to offer are buried under mountains of monotony. they were clearly focused on making sure the game has "lots of stuff" without any consideration for the quality or what joy the player might even get out of it. The combat is repetitive, unchallenging and treats you like a widdle baby, and the story never knows when to shutup and seems to drag on endlessly just to fill time. I like many have always wanted a "forever game" where I can live and occupy a world with other real players and watch my character grow over time, but I don't think this game is it for anyone. but hey I hear it gets good after 100 hours! So if you haven't died of boredom by then maybe it'll get better? maybe?
