About
The world has fallen under the dominion of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a sinister corporation that has monopolized the planet's very life force as Mako energy. In the urban megalopolis of Midgar, an anti-Shinra rebel group calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their campaign of resistance.
Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra's elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the rebels, unaware that he will be drawn into an epic battle for the fate of the planet, while having to come to terms with his own lost past.
This product is an upgraded version of FINAL FANTASY VII – 2013 Edition with additional features (there are no changes or additions to the story).

If you like traditional style JRPGs this is one of the greats.
Where to begin with this? The story is an all time favourite of mine, the way every Act of the story flows into the next never dipping enough to lose your attention. It contains impactful themes of environmental protection and allusions to the way mass industry can be our own undoing, which might seem like beating a dead horse but it just feels right in FF7. Characters have these clear personalities with intriguing stories, particularly the core party members (Yuffie, Vincent and Cait Sith not so much). It is a game that subverts your expectations in twist after twist that I wish I were less spoiled on due to my playing of Remake and Rebirth before this. The gameplay is great as always. The Materia system was a fun invention for this game. It was interesting optimising certain materia combos to deal maximum damage and limit breaks and summons felt truly cinematic. After all, this game places emphasis on cinematics; it is basically a movie in game form. I think the side content was wonderful too, lots of small mini games sprinkled throughout if you were ever tired of the turn-based combat. The background graphics are beautiful and feel like you are playing a game set to the backdrop of many paintings. Finally, the music is possibly my favourite in all the Final Fantasies. Nobuo Uematsu was at the top of his game when composing tracks like Listen to the Cries of the Planet, One Winged Angel, Tifa’s theme and Aerith’s theme and so on. It is wholeheartedly one of the best RPGs out there and I think regardless of your taste, everyone can find something enjoyable from FF7.

Despues de revivir este clasico de la infacia, jugarlo por una semana seguida practicamente todos los dias y conseguir el 100% de sus logros, recomiendo al 100% volver a jugar esta joyita de ps1. I still remember finishing the FF7 OG fifteen years ago. A memorable experience with the game's plot of suspension. This time I've played it with modern mods and re-translation. Such a wonderful game that to describe it is beyond my words.

Jogar FFVII pela primeira vez décadas depois do lançamento original é uma experiência curiosa: dá pra entender perfeitamente por que ele virou um marco da indústria, mesmo com todo o peso da idade em cima. A história de Cloud, Sephiroth e da Avalanche contra a Shinra ainda segura muito bem, com reviravoltas que continuam impactantes mesmo sabendo o que vem por aí (obrigado, cultura pop). O sistema de Materia pra customizar magias e habilidades é surpreendentemente flexível e ainda hoje é satisfatório de mexer. Agora, os gráficos poligonais dos personagens contrastando com os cenários pré-renderizados envelheceram muito mal, e certas traduções/localizações da versão de PC carregam aquelas frases estranhas que viraram meme. Os combates aleatórios também podem cansar em sessões longas. Mesmo com as arestas do tempo, é um clássico que vale a experiência histórica e ainda entrega uma das melhores histórias de RPG já feitas. Recomendo, principalmente pra quem quer entender de onde vem tanta referência dentro dos jogos modernos.
Final Fantasy 7 é fantástico, aqui vai os pontos positivos e negativos na minha opinião. PROS: - Ótimos personagens, carismáticos e memoráveis - História muito boa - Boa gameplay - Muitos lugares para explorar e vários segredos (itens, equipamentos, etc.) - Bem intuitivo na maioria das vezes (raramente fiquei perdido ou sem saber onde ir) *CONTRAS: - Jogo crashou uma vez em um momento importante - Não tem PT-BR - Game um pouco confuso no início para quem não é familiar com a franquia - Esse port traz cenários um pouco borrados *Conclusão: Eu adorei Final Fantasy 7, a história me prendeu logo no início, os personagens são excelentes e marcantes, a gameplay envelheceu bem na minha opinião, praticamente não tenho nada a reclamar, eu fui jogar sem saber de praticamente nada e me surpreendi positivamente. It's a great game, although combat is rather braindead from start to finish, as is typical of many JRPGs. The usual strategy of hasting the party, topping up health when it becomes low hardly fails. The use of false, unreliable narrators was an interesting way to understand the characters better without being too overbearing on the plot. The main plot, while straightforward, has hidden, interesting lore that requires the player to discover through additional dialogue and cutscenes. That said, it's quite a bummer that summon materia have no background story attached to them. I did not feel compelled to explore much of the world like the Golden Saucer and the Weapons, preferring to beeline the main story. When I finally gained full control of exploration and the party, the world was in a bad shape. There was supposed to be a sense of foreboding dread at that stage, but the side content was fun and giggles. It did not sit right with me to fully clear the side content. Highly recommend the Echo-S7 mod. Truly brings the game to life.
This is a bad port, but with the power of a few QOL mods, a la 7th Heaven mod manager and downgrading to the 2013 version, this can be a great port. Aged like a fine wine. I never played this game until this year, 29 years after it came out. Phenominal game. It's a must-play. The Materia system is such a fantastic concept, I love the world and the characters, the soundtrack is beautiful, this game means so much to me.
