Final Approach

I'm conflicted whether or not to recommend this game. It's super out of date now that its successor (Final Assault) is released. Don't get me wrong, this game is quite different in that it's a single player experience. And it was great on its launch. But odds are: you won't enjoy this game as much as Final Assault which builds off of this games mechanics for a super enjoyable PVP and PVE experience.

I could not recommend this enough. It's charming, the gameplay is simple, yet sometimes hectic fun, and frankly, out of all the VR games i've played, having the player towering above a lovely miniature enviroment, surrounded by cute little aircraft flying around them is the best use of 3D i've ever seen. Oh, and before i forget: There's a bit of a story, too! It's not RDR2 or anything, but hey, fully voiced characters and some interesting objectives to mix up the gameplay. I can't help but grin like a madman while playing this. I'd give it two thumbs up, but it doesn't do individual finger tracking, so instead i'll happily wave my hands at it and tell you to buy it this very instant.

Would you like to feel like a giant who's telling planes where and how to fly? Would you like to shoot cheeky little UFOs who're trying to steal your citizens? Would you like to crash the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ planes STRAIGHT TO HELL?? Then this games is for you!

Surprisingly fun, unfortunately hits a huge difficulty spike.

This game is still amazing even eight years after launching. I can't believe it hasn't been ported to the Quest platform. Surely it would sell really well on there. Steam is incorrectly showing that I've only played four hours of this game; I've actually played tens of hours. I've had this game pretty much since it launched back when I had the original HTC Vive. I've since placed it on Vive Pro, and more recently via Steam Link on the Quest 3 and most recently using the PSVR2 adaptor. It looks even better on these higher resolutions. Highly recommended.

+Plane Landing game from 2d - 3d +Challenging not hitting planes +Hectic +/- Value Subjective -Helicopter/Aliens are bad additions. 3/5 A great hectic "Get the planes to the right lane and don't let them crash" type of game, great content for it's price. AVOID This game is total garbage! You have to micro manage everything with controls that are not designed for VR at all.
