Pass time game, brain teaser, logic, 3D puzzle. Do you know the game of 15? It's a board with 4x4 -1 cubes to be able to move the pieces. Here this is a modern variant created in 3D with beautiful graphics and many subjects and themes to choose from: monuments, famous people, animals, vehicles. Each theme offers 25 puzzles to complete. The playability is done well because you can rotate the piece 360 degrees, and with the zoom wheel zoom to enlarge the view and see the details With the bar it shows you the complete subject that you will use as a reference. It's very practical, you can do everything using just the mouse, there's no need to search for keys. The music is beautiful and pleasant to listen to. As a puzzle game it is interesting because it allows us to use our manual skills and once the puzzle is finished it is pleasant to see what we have reconstructed in 3D. Certainly it is necessary to use a bit of logic, not to move the pieces at random, since I already know this game of 15 I use a method learned over time; but how about accepting this challenge? Learn this game and create your own method to reconstruct these wonderful figures!
A review copy was provided by the developer.

Follow my Curator page, Fruit N Doggie Reviews, so you can be updated whenever I post a new review.

Overall Rating - Average ★★★☆☆

First Impressions
In a move I find a little strange, an indie developer released three distinct puzzle games on the same day, 12/20/2023: Fifteen (5T), Genius Moves (GM), and Pixsaw (PS). GM had some negative reviews, and it revolved around programming, so I knew I'd want to avoid that one. However, the other two had premises that intrigued me. I was able to get review keys for both, and will check them out one after the other, starting with 5T.
Gameplay
I don't remember the first time I encountered one, but there's a sliding block puzzle that's fairly common, both in physical form and as a freebie on some computers. It's a square made up of a 4X4 grid, with one piece missing so you can slide the blocks around one piece at a time. After mixing it up like a rubix cube, the goal is to get all of the pieces into the right place. Fittingly enough they're called sliding-block puzzles, and they can be played on different size boards. What 5T does is take 3D objects and place them onto that puzzle type, which you'll solve the exact same way as the original, but with the goal and reward of a 3D image. Moving a single square at a time, you'll have to shuffle all the pieces around until they're in the right location. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3133240749
Controls
It takes getting used to, but you don't need to specifically grab the piece you want to move in order to switch blocks around. If you simply click anywhere on the screen and drag in the direction you want the block to move, it'll go in the corresponding direction. Considering how high some of the pieces can get in comparison to flatter ones, it's a good thing it works this way, or else the puzzle would get in the way of itself. 5T isn't compatible with a controller, but I think a mouse is the better choice anyways.
Story
There's no story elements behind why you're taking blended up 3D models and placing them back together again. If there had been one, it'd probably have been a bit strange. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3133259630
Visuals
This aspect of the game is what held my interest the most. I found the 3D models compelling, a nice goal and reward for each of the puzzles that I'd solve. Even though I've never purchased and made a 3D model before, somehow seeing the screenshots helped me better understand their appeal. Overall, I'd still say the imagery and aesthetic works well after you've solved the puzzle and can gaze upon the model. However, it can be a bit clunky to work with, until you get used to it. Due to the extra dimension sometimes getting in the way of your view of the board, at times you'll need to rotate and look at it from different angles to check where everything is.
Sound Design
Having looked at the other puzzle game I received from this developer, I was glad that 5T had music in it. It's the same song despite what puzzle type you choose, which seemed like a missed opportunity to me. Making a unique tune to fit famous people, landmarks, vehicles, and animals would have given a bit more personality while working on the puzzles. Thankfully though, the song is mellow and fits the vibe of working out how to move the blocks around. By contrast, the sound effect that plays after you clear the puzzle is on the loud side, especially compared to the music, so I'd suggest muting it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3133268854
Pros
🌟 Once you get used to the models, they aren't that big of a distraction. It can be a hair tricky figuring out what part goes where, especially for the animals and people. Posture seems to be a big factor with that. 🌟 There's 4 different puzzle types, each of which have 25 models. 100 puzzles is a good amount, as it's not too overwhelming. 🌟 If you quit out of a puzzle, it'll maintain your current progress.
Cons
❌ You have to solve the puzzles in order, even though they don't get more difficult over time. Navigating through them is also kind of clunky, when using the arrow keys would be faster. That might have been a nice alternative to clicking and dragging with the mouse when solving puzzles too. ❌ There's no cloud save, so if you switch to a new computer, your progress won't carry over.
Tips
🔍 Apparently, a reliable strategy for solving these kind of puzzles is to place all the pieces for the top row and then the left column. Once they're in place, never move them again, and repeat the process one row and column at a time. Ultimately, you're taking a 4X4 puzzle, turning it into a 3X3, and so forth. 🔍 Even if you rotate the puzzle to get a better angle or view, treating the same side as the “top” and “bottom” will make it easier.
Final Thoughts
Initially, since I was having a bit of difficulty getting used to the perspective, I was unsure what I really thought of 5T. After playing on a larger monitor, and incorporating the trick of using the borders to decrease the amount of pieces to contend with, it was much more manageable and enjoyable. One minor fix I'd make is letting players be able to view a finished puzzle freely, instead of being forced to watch it spin. You're able to do that when working on the puzzle after all, so why not have that same level of control after you've earned the prize? Otherwise though, I'm pretty satisfied with the game, and think it'd be worth picking up. Something to bear in mind is that nothing will change throughout the playthrough, except for the image you're working on. Mechanically, 5T remains constant. Casual sliding puzzle where you work with 3D scenes. The game gets its name from the fifteen tiles that form a puzzle. Well, because this is a sliding puzzle, you'll be dealing with fourteen tiles. Despite the fact that the scene is in 3D, the mechanics remain the same. The goal is to slide tiles around to finish the scene. The scene can be zoomed in and out, as well as rotated. Because there are so many details on a single scene, there is a really useful function that allows you to see how the entire scene should look. The difficulty is casual and always the same. The best way to solve this type of puzzle is to complete one side and move to the other. Puzzles are divided into four bundles: famous landmarks, people, vehicles, and animals. Each bundle has 25 puzzles. The interesting part is a link to a Wikipedia page that lets you find out more about the subject.
