INSTALLING NOTHING
Je joue sur Linux. Version Linux : excellente.
Hardware : 5950x, Nvidia 3080Ti, 64GB ram. Screens : Dualscreen, 1x 4K & 1x 1920x1200, un seul screen X.

This is a really enjoyable family-friendly Soko style puzzle game that can be both fun to solve in the earlier levels and progressing in complexity in the upper levels, especially beyond Island 40. Some of the islands are truly mind-bending and challenging to work through, exercising your mind multiple moves into the future. Kudos to the developer for Update 1.0.5 with the "Ghost Cat"...I tried it out for a portion of an island (I'm a purist on puzzle games if I can help it) just to see how it worked and it was fantastic...you can turn it off before it finishes the level if all you need is a hint on your next move...this is a great idea for puzzle games and would like to see other developers implement this instead of having to watch videos for help on stuck puzzles. Great game and thanks for developing it to you and your team! Hope to see more levels in the future maybe as DLC...
adorable sokoban game featuring an enterprising kitty who just wants to push boxes around. i'm not terribly good with these sorts of puzzles so i was stumped within the first twenty levels, but the dev added a hint button so you can work out how it finishes if you need it to, which is much appreciated.
I'm never playing a Sokoban without a undo/rewind mechanic again. Also the diagonal camera angle doesn't take diagonal inputs? wtf.
Sokocat - Islands is yet another of several hundred minimalist pathing puzzle games that's somehow here on Steam instead of locked onto the app stores where this kind of shallow game belongs. It's basically a ripoff of Sokoban but worse in almost all respects... and remember, this is a paid product. You can play Sokoban for free. It's basically an asset flip, most of the assets were stolen from Suriyun's cutesy/low poly asset packs, but the developer didn't credit Suriyun for doing most of the work that went into the game. Claiming the work of someone else as your own, as the developer here is doing, is unethical. It's plagiarism. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. This is indistinguishable from a mobile app, but they put this on Steam instead of the app stores by mistake. Was it rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all)?. Regardless, for all intents and purposes Sokocat - Islands might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Sokocat - Islands is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Adventure to beautiful tropical islands and solve sokoban-style puzzles with new gameplay elements while listening to the sea and a peaceful, relaxing soundtrack. • Simple and intuitive gameplay. • Peaceful and relaxing music. • Play it on beautiful tropical islands. • 50 challenges from easy to hard. • Achievements! • Control a fluffy cat.
I enjoyed the game at the start but I have two issues with it. 1. There is no UNDO button so if you fail the level you have to play the whole level over again from the beginning. 2. Most of the Steam Achievements are based on completing 5 levels but because of #1 the later levels are really hard and require many trials, errors and replays... at least for me. I finally gave up after completing level 30. Add an UNDO option and I will gladly change this review to a thumbs up!
Sokocat Islands is adorable and tough enough but there's also the awesome help feature so it's just adorable!
