Good game, i love it, but its 2022, you could put all DLC's for free. This game have 10 years
So... I won’t even pretend to be objective here -this game is a huge part of my childhood, and judging by the prices on Steam, I’m clearly not the only one who remembers it so fondly. At one point, it was even more expensive than its sequel, which came out four years later. That alone shows just how much this title brought to the table. Starting with what Giants gave us - two new animal species, where there had previously been only one - and moving through the massive amount of licensed machinery, all the way to the now-iconic Hagenstedt map. Focusing on the machines: it was in this installment that the Farming Simulator brand truly took off when it comes to licensed vehicles. Before that, we mostly had fictional Lizard equipment (created by the developers) and a few Deutz-Fahr machines. Over time, we even got — in my opinion — the best DLC in the entire series: the Ursus Addon, which introduced tons of gear from that company. It was later converted to newer versions of the game... until legal issues over licensing forced its removal from the official mod hub, and eventually, it disappeared entirely. Besides official add-ons, the modding community was also making waves. Within just a few months, we saw several groundbreaking mods that genuinely influenced how the series evolved going forward. Forestry Mod - probably one of the most influential and well-known mods in the franchise’s history. Thanks to it, the next installment of Farming Simulator introduced fully interactive, harvestable trees. It was a huge success and encouraged the developers to officially implement the mechanic. It proved that the community really could shape the game - and the FS fanbase grew significantly as a result. Smaller mods - While the Forestry Mod was the most important, it’s worth mentioning some of the smaller ones that were absolutely wild for their time. Modders gifted us gems like bizarre hovercrafts, road-building machines, cars, quads, and even airplanes. If you really wanted to, you could ride around on a pig or a gas-guzzling horse that puffed smoke from its rear. Even after all these years, this game is still alive - and its mods are still floating around online, just waiting to be downloaded. In my eyes, it’s a genuinely great game that showcases what shared passion between developers and players can accomplish. Compared to today's sequels, it may seem stripped down or lacking in features - but it’s this game that has a soul, not just a budget...
