Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 362.2/day in the week to Jul 16 → 4.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

First of all: I like this game. It's very good. The original Fantasy Life for 3DS is my favorite game for that console. While this game improves many things and has a lot of content, it falls short in some areas: Combat: Feels dumbed down compared to the original. I liked balancing elemental attacks as a wizard or carefully timing combo attacks, and I'm sad that's gone. Multiplayer: Could have been implemented better. All the time limits feel a bit obnoxious and somehow, the item chest from the original was more practical to use than the current item exchange system. World: The world of this game just feels less interconnected and alive than the world from the original. You Fast-Travel everywhere, travel between disconnected islands, the present island and Ginormosia and none of it really feels organic. Those points aside, this is a very enjoyable experience both alone and with friends.

♥♥♥♥ you for buying me this game and then never ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ playing with me you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i hope you're happy with yourself. men be like "aw my life is getting hard lemme get rid of the girl who loves me unconditionally" like ok WHATEVERR go ♥♥♥♥ yourself man. anyway this game is cute or whatever. i liked it, i just can't stand looking at it in my library anymore. too painful.
TLDR: The story and character writing are meh. The actual gameplay, however, is very fun and there’s a ton of different things to do. If you don't mind a lighthearted (forgettable) story but prioritize fun gameplay + variety, FLi is a good choice.
Pros:
- Character customization. The character customization is very cartoon/anime-styled, and they have a variety of hairstyles, skintones, and mouth/eye options to choose from. You can even choose your character’s height and voice (there’s 5-6 different voice packs, some masculine and some feminine). - Good character designs. The characters they introduced in this game have good designs, ranging from cute to cool to edgy. There's some decent variety of character designs in your teammates as well; not everyone is a generic cute anime girl/boy, which I liked to see. - Good postgame content. People will disagree with me on this point, but I find the postgame content (after you defeat the final boss) very time-consuming in a good way. There’s numerous different things you can focus on: Treasure Groves (which give you goddess fruits, which you can use to unlock a variety of customization, recipes, and items), Ginormosia (where you can explore, fight and grind to your heart’s content, and unlock around 30 new characters to join your party), Snoozaland (which unlocks a large amount of cool new outfits, armor sets, weapon sets, furniture, and emotes), and more. Just maxxing out all of my Lives to lvl 100 took a large amount of time, but I found the grind enjoyable. - Multiplayer. The Multiplayer in this game is very fun and easy to get into. You have a variety of different game modes to choose from, and you are actually REWARDED for completing games in multiplayer. The more people play together in Treasure Grove, the more goddess fruits your entire team will receive. The more people play together in Snoozaland, the more items you'll receive via the alchemy bots. (More items = More dream points) - Island building. Speaking as an Animal Crossing fan...I LOVE that we get an entire island to build. You can terraform it to your hearts content, and terraforming in this game is insanely convenient thanks to your robot helper. There’s a good variety of items and furniture that you can decorate with, and your teammates can live on the island with you. If you’re an Animal Crossing fan (or any ‘cozy game’ that allows you to build a town and decorate), you will love this feature.
Cons:
- Lackluster and boring story. The story from the original Fantasy Life 3DS was great. Nothing groundbreaking or life changing, but it was a good plot with interesting and likable characters. In comparison, the story for FLi is...nothing. Its incredibly one-dimensional and lacks depth. Compared to the original 3DS game, the story for this game is a letdown. - Lackluster and boring characters. Don’t get me wrong, I think the new characters they introduced are very cute and cool design-wise. The issue is that everyone is so one-dimensional that there’s literally nothing to their characters aside from their painfully basic backstories. They have no additional dialogue upon going out of your way to speak with them; they’ll just keep repeating the same lines over and over until they happen to be relevant to the plot and show up in a cutscene. - Barebones character dialogue. This is specifically regarding the characters that can live on your island and join your team. The issue is these characters barely have ANY dialogue. At most, they have maybe 10-15 dialogue lines total (1-2 greetings, 1-2 help requests, 1 when its raining, 1 for nighttime, 1-2 when they’re in their house). The ‘conversations’ they can rarely have with other characters are painfully bland. The conversations are always a variety of A: “I like this thing!” B: “I don't care” A: “Oh okay!” A final Fun Fact: Apparently this game was originally intended to be a MOBILE GACHA GAME until the ex-director stepped down, and the dev team scrambled last second to try and turn it into an actual decent game despite their time constraints. Which explains so much about this game's cons lol.
An amazing and well crafted experience, I enjoyed every second of the game and really look forward to what the future holds for it (please level5, add more content, I beg of thee). I feel like it holds a great time for both fans and newcomers criticisms compared to the first game: - the civilizations and nonstory npcs felt very forgettable with extremely little relevance, felt more like set pieces more than an actual living world - the enemy variety was really reduced and samey, plus combat was overall toned back to the detriment of paladin and mercenary and in my opinion to the benefit of hunter and wizard - instead of being episodic, the main story is one long experience with no designated spots for free roam, meaning the pacing can feel quite off depending on how you play improvements to the first game: - the multiplayer is very worth doing, having an extremely huge amount of benefits, yet it is also very much not required for advancement, plus the players are all super super friendly and helpful - crafting has way less downtime and is overall faster, I also like that it is slightly harder to power scale yourself way above where you are supposed to be yet there does seem to be ways to do it for those who enjoy that style - the follower system is well done and I love how they can help with harder tasks, though some can be quite annoying - though a little hesitant to get into at first, the open world and home base zones and all the mechanics to both I thought were quite awesome, the music and gameplay really were fun and unique As for the actual story in a non spoiler way, I both do and dont like how its formatted, I do like that your player character isnt actually an explicit "hero" like they are in the first game, however it very quickly pushes the explorer/researcher idea to the side and works of the assumptions that the player knows and remembers their character is a researcher, and if forgotten the third act and ending can seem quite very horribly paced. Overall I rank it a 9/10 for its gameplay and laid back quick-to-jump-in vibes but I think the 3ds game is better for its story and world immersion
