From indie developer, and publisher, EGC Games, with their line of mostly puzzle, hentai games, comes Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzle 4, the fourth iteration in a series of five Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzle games. With 46 games currently released on Steam, we are dealing with a more established, experienced developer.
This is the most basic jigsaw puzzle games can get. The pieces can not be rotated, hence they are always correctly orientated next to the puzzle layout field. They are not moving or floating around in the drawing space, like they for instance do in the Pixel Puzzles series. In most cases, the pieces have to be moved next to the board, in order to get a more clear view on the playing filed. Pieces do not slot into place easily, the target box in which the pieces should go, is outlined however, but rather small, compared to other indie jigsaw puzzlers. There are only a mere 2 cut-outs on the sawed edges, which makes it more suitable to eyeball where a piece should go.
Art-style is fantasy as the title represents, with nearly all pictures being dark-fantasy. The girls and scenes depicted are generic and erotic in nature, depicting the same poses over and over again. Presumably these are artificially generated images. A gallery option is available through the main menu.
12 puzzles are available, all having the same 6x6 squared shape of 64 pieces each. A single puzzle roughly takes about 2 to 3 minutes to complete.
The music seems quite generic as well, somewhat mesmerizing and compelling. Though there is not enough variation, which makes you want to run your favorite music in the background. There is the option to turn of the music in-game, however. All Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzle games run the same, single background music. The sound effect when a piece slots into position, operates seperately from the music in the background, which allows for the player to effectively turn off the music and not the sound effect. The sound returns a rewarding and satisfying feeling when puzzling.
An easy completable game to perfect, which has 3 achievements. Something that can be done occasionally during a coffee break, eventually completing all puzzles in less than an hour of puzzling. There are guides available, in the Community Hub, as well, for those who want to cheat the game into easy and fast completion of the puzzles. This game is excellently suitable for achievement hunters, due to the fast and easy completion time.
To conclude, I had a great time relaxing while playing Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzle 4. Every now and then when I felt the need to relieve stress, effectively unlocking 3 achievements every game.
