Family Dinner is a cosy and charming short story about the ups and downs of visiting family on Christmas Day. Deal with each mini crisis as they unfold; listen to your Uncle's dodgy jokes; avoid the grumpy cat; and watch your mother slowly implode. This all sounds vaguely familiar. Family Dinner looks and sounds very charming with a catchy melodic tune playing which gives you vibes of Xmas and colourful cosy graphics. It's perfect for a short nibble of Xmas before you have to do the same yourself in real life. Mingle with your relatives to start a short and often witty dialogue train, and defuse situations as they arise, like finding out who broke the gravy boat, and getting your relatives to meet by the tree to exchange presents. It basically involves talking to everyone in the house and then you will learn what events or dialogues move the story forward, but you must be quick before your social battery depletes. If you fail to solve all the missions before your battery runs out then you have to start the story again, and hopefully use the knowledge from your previous run to make the next one quicker. There are objects that you can examine or interact with that can can gain you battery, like alcohol, and just as many objects that will deplete your battery so that is a case of trial and error. There's not much difficulty completing the game and keeping you sanity in check especially once you know who to talk and in what order. Each run lasts about fifteen minutes and you should be able to complete the game after a few runs. The controls are keyboard only, but are very simple, and seven achievements have just been added.
🍳Conclusion🍳

Family Dinner is a charming slice of life festive treat that is amusing to play and may possibly remind you of similar events you may have experienced. I wouldn't say it is laugh out loud funny but it succeeds in providing a warm and cosy experience, albeit a brief one. It feels more like a demo than a full game due to its short dialogues and length but it's still enjoyable to play and is perfect for this time of year. Holiday family dinners are basically hardcore boss fights where you’re forced to dodge, parry, and occasionally speed-run your way through them to keep the chaos at bay. You show up for mashed potatoes, and instantly your uncle ambushes you with an interrogation about your love life like you’re on a trial, while your aunt might want to recruit you into the latest “definitely-not-a-pyramid-scheme.” Your influencer cousin is livestreaming everyone’s emotional breakdowns for clout, your sister is quietly spiraling into an existential crisis, and your uncle (yes, the same one; he’s basically the miniboss and final boss) gets drunk and unleashes a barrage of painfully unfunny dad jokes. Meanwhile, your grandpa is only here for the food, and the household’s grumpy cat might legitimately be the only creature holding this family together. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3621623908 Family Dinner captures this chaos perfectly and serves it with a sprinkle of humor, while making the whole experience dauntingly relatable. It’s a short, narrative adventure with adorable pixel art that takes about 15–20 minutes to complete. As Ana, it’s your job to solve the never-ending stream of family dilemmas, which range from “Who dared to murder the gravy boat?” to “Is your brother buying instant gravy in an attempt to save the day, the true crime of the evening?” Either way, the culprit must be found, tensions must be soothed, and someone has to keep the dinner from turning into a full-blown sitcom meltdown. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3621623983 Ana has a “social battery” similar to a stamina bar, draining the longer she sticks around or whenever she engages in conversation. Obviously, talking to relatives is a draining endeavor in itself. Certain actions increase or decrease its value, meaning that you might not be able to sort everything out on your first attempt. That first run is basically your tutorial in Who’s Who, What’s Happening, and Why Is Everything Happening Like This. If you’re aiming to obtain all achievements, you’ll need multiple playthroughs anyway, as there are achievements tied to speedrunning (completing the game in under 15 minutes) or finishing the game when your social battery is on its last legs. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3621624027 By the time you finally open presents and wrap up this festive catastrophe, you’re stuffed, overwhelmed, and your social battery is almost empty. But hey, at least the chaos is seasoned with love… and maybe with a little passive aggression too. Conversas engraçadas, ritmo fluído e mecânica interessante. Um ótimo jogo para quem quer algo leve e divertido para passar o tempo
Made me giggle! A short little game with characters as cute as they are annoying lol. Very relatable, especially during the holiday season!
AMAZING GAME 10/10 would not talk to my family ever again
Cute art, witty dialogue, a charming 20-minute experience. Laughed several times :)
This was a genuinely creative and enjoyable game with an idea that really resonated with me as an introvert. I had a great time earning 100% of the achievements, and the humor throughout the game got quite a few laughs out of me. And let's be honest, Greg's joke at the dinner table was absolutely hilarious. I'm already looking forward to seeing what the developers create next!
A mug of hot chocolate on a winter's day, that's what this feels like! A warm and cozy little game that's perfect for the holiday season. The family dynamics are relatable and each family member feels like you've known them for years. The dialogues are funny and clever, and between all the insensitive insults lies a story that's surprisingly therapeutic and wholesome.
This is a really cute and amusing way to spend 30 minutes! A brief and humorous window into a slightly dysfunctional and mildly toxic family dynamic that I think a lot of people can relate to. Fun gameplay gimmicks, heartfelt character interactions and genuinely funny dialogue that made me smile a lot.
Cute, chill and short game. Rather good for being the developers' first. Could use a bit of polish on the controls (alternative buttons to allow for only one hand on the keyboard and one on the mouse) and on the dialogue speed (e.g. press a button to show the text instantly, and to move on to the next dialogue step in cutscenes). Easy 100% achievements (<1 hour with a regular playthrough followed by cleanup with a guide).
