6.5/10 A pixelated MMO Pokemon-like TBS with creature collecting. TLDR: The mechanics of this indie turn-based battler are good but intended for PVP. For single-player content, make sure to check the guide with the locations of the dungeons (it's in Guides section in Steam Discussions), without it there isn't much to do. Good: - 20 classes of creatures, each with 4-5 abilities. Each creature is vulnerable to some types of attacks and resistant to some others. This creates an interesting though simple battle system. - music is 8bit and upbeat, gives the game positive vibes - free So-so: - graphics are pixelated and use a very low number of colors (16?). In the world, I often didn't even understand something was a door until I accidentally moved thru it. Bad: - the game runs in a tiny window. You can maximize it. However, the font is optimized for absurdly tiny screen space, so even when the game is maximized, the letters just become huge. Even short sentences occupy the whole screen. And during battles, you have to click several times to read just a handful of messages. This artificial clutter makes gameplay more tedious: a lot of clicks and actions with the UI are needed to do anything. The game's UI could be easily "flattened" if it were designed for proper screen sizes - single-player content is essentially just lvl 1-5 mobs randomly scattered around the map. You will level up a few toons to lvl 15 and would be confused what's the point of all this. The game relies on its store description and an external guide showing dungeon locations. Instead, there should be quests or pointers in the game itself, to create a feeling of progress and help build player motivation. Great Game!
Game window would randomly close sometimes for no reason so i can't recommend. Also 0 players online according to steam charts so dead game.
keep losing levels randomly, went from level 15 to lvl 10 kind of dumb mechanic
I played this game in 2024 and thought it was quite good. Now I want to continue playing but it shows "Connection has been reset". This has left me quite confused. Since it's a free Pokémon game, there are very few related reviews. I need to know how I can play this game again without deleting my saved data.
The game worked for about a week, now it will not load, i have uninstalled and installed again
Presentation: 1 star (of 1). Graphics are nice, sounds and music are very basic but the game is short so that's fine. Playerbase: 0 stars. Only one other person was online while I played, and they seemed to be afk, as they didn't respond to my "howdy" button presses. Onboarding Experience: 1 star. Controls were good and intuitive, there was no tutorial but the game loop was simple enough to jump right into the general game experience without needing one. F2P Experience: 1 star. No paid elements. Satisfying Mechanics: 1 star. It's pokemon combat, though slightly simplified for the stats and move sets. It's a good formula and it was executed well here. Final score: 4 stars out of 5. Fun, though very short to experience everything.
knockoff Pokemon.
Fun little game =)
