Good Game 10/10 and the Online Mode So Fire !!!! Keep going
Fallen Lean is an indie action RPG that feels driven almost entirely by ambition. Developed and published by Younes, the game attempts to combine fast-paced combat, open-world exploration, supernatural powers, platforming, and even player-created content into one large fantasy adventure. While the final result is undeniably rough in several areas, it also possesses a level of creativity and unpredictability that makes it stand out from many smaller indie RPGs on Steam. Instead of playing things safe, Fallen Lean constantly experiments with mechanics and ideas that feel far larger than the scale of the project itself. The story begins with a catastrophic scientific experiment that destroys the world and shatters the protagonist’s life. Lean loses both his family and the woman he loves during the disaster, leaving him driven by grief and revenge. After confronting the scientist responsible and suffering defeat, he is rescued and transported into a strange alternate dimension filled with supernatural challenges and dangerous creatures. From there, the narrative becomes increasingly surreal as Lean must survive multiple worlds and gather mysterious Gate Tokens capable of reopening the path back to his ruined reality. The story embraces dramatic fantasy themes without much restraint, creating an adventure filled with revenge, tragedy, alternate dimensions, and supernatural powers. While the narrative itself can sometimes feel chaotic, the game’s unusual worldbuilding helps maintain interest. Different dimensions and environments constantly introduce new visual ideas and gameplay scenarios that prevent the experience from feeling repetitive. The shifting worlds create the feeling that anything can happen next, which fits the game’s experimental design philosophy perfectly. Even when the storytelling becomes messy or overly dramatic, the sheer unpredictability of the adventure keeps players curious about what strange environment or enemy might appear next. Combat is one of the game’s strongest features. Fallen Lean clearly takes inspiration from modern action RPGs and soulslike titles by focusing heavily on movement, dodging, melee attacks, and supernatural abilities. Encounters can become fast and chaotic, especially once players unlock stronger powers and more advanced skills. The combat system rewards aggression and mobility, allowing players to chain attacks together while avoiding enemy strikes through quick movement and positioning. Certain boss battles become genuinely exciting because of how much pressure they place on the player to react quickly and adapt to different attack patterns. The progression system adds another layer of depth by allowing players to improve Lean’s abilities and unlock supernatural powers over time. Skill trees and upgrades encourage experimentation because different builds can significantly change combat strategies. Some abilities focus more on direct offense, while others provide mobility or defensive advantages during difficult encounters. Watching Lean gradually evolve from a vulnerable survivor into a powerful supernatural fighter creates a satisfying sense of progression that helps maintain momentum throughout the adventure. Exploration also plays a major role in the overall experience. The game’s environments are often large and filled with hidden areas, side activities, traps, and optional encounters. While the open-world structure lacks the density and polish of larger RPGs, it still creates a convincing sense of scale and freedom. Players are encouraged to wander away from the main objectives in search of upgrades, secrets, or hidden locations. Some sections focus heavily on platforming and environmental navigation, helping break up the combat-focused pacing and adding more variety to progression. One of the most unusual aspects of Fallen Lean is its inclusion of player-created content systems. The game allows players to create custom levels, import music and images, and design gameplay challenges before sharing them with others. This is an incredibly ambitious feature for a smaller indie RPG and demonstrates how much creative freedom the developer wanted to offer. While the community tools may not feel as refined as dedicated level editors in larger games, they still add a unique layer of replayability and experimentation rarely seen in indie action RPGs. Visually, the game is inconsistent but often surprisingly imaginative. Some environments and effects look genuinely impressive considering the game’s indie origins, especially during larger boss encounters and supernatural sequences. Anime-inspired character designs, fantasy environments, glowing visual effects, and surreal landscapes help give the game a distinct personality. Lighting effects and magical abilities can create visually striking moments during combat, even if animations and environmental details occasionally reveal the project’s lower budget. The soundtrack and sound design also contribute positively to the experience. Energetic music intensifies combat encounters, while quieter exploration sections use ambient sound and atmospheric tracks to build tension and mystery. Sound effects tied to supernatural powers help combat feel impactful despite occasional mechanical roughness. The audio design consistently supports the game’s dramatic tone and cinematic ambitions. However, Fallen Lean’s ambition also becomes its biggest weakness at times. The game attempts to blend so many mechanics and ideas together that some systems inevitably feel unfinished or underdeveloped. Combat balancing can become inconsistent, movement occasionally feels awkward during platforming sections, and enemy behavior sometimes lacks polish. The open-world environments can also feel somewhat empty between major encounters, making exploration less rewarding than it initially appears. Technical roughness is noticeable throughout the experience. Animations can appear stiff, environmental interactions occasionally feel clumsy, and certain gameplay systems lack refinement. Players expecting a polished AAA-style action RPG will likely become frustrated with these issues quickly. The pacing can also feel uneven because the game shifts frequently between exploration, combat, platforming, and story sequences without always balancing them smoothly. Despite these flaws, Fallen Lean remains memorable because of its creativity and passion. The game constantly introduces strange ideas, supernatural mechanics, and unusual environments that make the experience feel unpredictable from beginning to end. Even when certain systems fail to fully deliver on their potential, the ambition behind the project remains impressive. It feels like a game driven more by imagination and experimentation than by safe design decisions. What ultimately makes Fallen Lean interesting is how fearless it feels creatively. The game may lack polish and consistency, but it compensates with energy, variety, and originality. For players who enjoy experimental indie action RPGs and are willing to overlook technical roughness in exchange for ambitious gameplay ideas, Fallen Lean offers a surprisingly entertaining adventure filled with chaotic combat, supernatural powers, and surreal fantasy worlds.
