Decisions and information gathering
This game is very demanding when it comes to the player's attention. Characters will lie and mislead you. History books are biased. You will need to seek out information on your own initiative and analyze it all carefully before you make your decisions, there will be quite a few of them. No in-game source is infallible. Don't expect complete answers to come to you on a silver platter.
A vast fantasy world
Fadry is set in a vast world built to create a sense of history and depth. Its many religions, philosophies, factions, scholars, leaders and great warriors have all been written to be dynamic and influence the culture around them, often clashing. As the game's protagonists move through the world, an observant player will not only learn about all of this, but also become a part of it all.
This game has slow pacing. The story and world I created take a while to get anywhere. I know this. It's on purpose. It is also recommended that you interact with every NPC, and read every piece of in-game text and lore to fully understand the context for everything. Only play this game if this sounds like something that interests you.
"Martja the Unlucky": The bittersweet adventure of a young girl following the events of the main game. 1 hour long.

Well this was a fun ride, it took me a bit longer than expected to finish the game, I went in expecting alot of reading and it was indeed there. The story was very entertaining as I always love games where your choices matter, this game does that really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well it was a very relaxing game, with some hair pulling moments during combat that were still enjoyable when i figured out how to get through them. thankfully after 14 hours I have been left very satisfied, the ending answered most of the questions I had and left me generally happy, even If I have a problem with the main char of act 4
Before I played Fadry, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
I love the dialogue, world building, and characters this game has to offer. I have had a lot of fun in this game. However I just can't recommend it. Making progress is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difficult. You never know where your supposed to be, what your supposed to do, and 90% of the time you don't even know what your current mission is. I have been stuck in derva so long I have memorized the dialogue of every single npc in the part of Derva I can access. I have spent hours going into every building, interacting with every single object (Even ♥♥♥♥ like plates), and interacting with every single npc over and over again, and haven't made a single bit of progress. I am not playing this game. I am fighting it tooth and nail for even the slightest amount of progress. Even when I do make progress, I quickly find myself stuck for another few hours. Happened in Rose, and it is now happening in Derva. I have currently played this game for about 6 hours in total. For probably around 4 if not more of those hours I have been stuck doing the same ♥♥♥♥ over and over trying to make even the slightest amount of progress. This game has so much good in it, and so much potential. However, I'll never get to see any of it because I am done with this. All this game is doing is pissing me off, and boring the ♥♥♥♥ out of me. I'm not gonna sit here doing the same thing for hours, make a tiny tiny bit of progress, and get stuck doing the same thing for another few hours. It just isn't fun. The amazing dialogue, world building, and characters just aren't enough to make me continue playing this. Which sucks, because I was so invested into this game! I was really enjoying it until I just wasn't able to make anymore progress. Make progress easier, and I'll gladly come back and play this whole game. I'd be delighted to finish this game! I'd love to recommend it to others as well. Tell the player what they need to do, and where they need to go more effectively, and this would be a 10 out of 10 game for me. As it stands, I don't wanna play this anymore. I'm tired of fighting this game.
Even though, at this point, I am somewhat disappointed - I would still recommend this game. Spoilers below, be warned. The dialogues are rather well written, and I found myself immersed into the "main character" despite the slow pacing. Really, a game needs that -something- to make you start writing down notes for reference. However, what I can not get over is the twist at Act 3. Or, perhaps Act 2? At that point, it isn't too obvious as to what was going on. Now, having started Act 3, I am still not entirely sure. I think my main grievance with it is that the whole deal with the "soup" is so outlandish and unpredictable, that it pushes - and snaps - my suspension of disbelief. I think that the setup for it is not even remotely baked enough. It is so out of left field, in my opinion. It feels a bit like Attack on Titan, where the show would have been far more better had it stayed to what drew us in initially. I am not sure if I'll be coming back to the game to finish it. Can't get rid of this deflated feeling, when I think about it. Still, I will be definitely trying out whatever else the Dev puts out. I can't in good faith not recommend this one, despite my personal dissatisfaction.
Well made game! Interesting story and characters. Good dialogue too. I'm waiting for the next chapter! And hope my reports help to fix some bugs ;)
Ran fine on Steam Deck with Proton Experimental, though it did not play in full screen. I had to give up on this one. There's a lot of potential here for an immersive roleplaying experience. Not many games will make you pay close attention to what NPCs are telling you. But the whole time I was playing Fadry, I had to ask why. Why are we bothering to talk to every NPC in the area? Why should I care about this completely personality-void protagonist? Why are there so many extremely long pathways?? It frustrates me because I was so excited to see an RPGMaker dev try something different. The NPCs that you're not accosting for boring minutiae can be pretty hilarious. One NPC in a book shop loudly complains about words not being pronounced as they're spelled. One child is just really obsessed with water for some reason. It was cute, and if I was more invested in this game to keep playing, I'm sure there would be more examples like this. I have to query what made the developer choose such a blank state protagonist when they clearly have a skill for humour. I can understand wanting to build mystery and intrigue, but I need a reason to care about these people. It doesn't have to be a moral, lawful good reason. But my brief playtime was spent just following these 2 bozos around while they chat to every single NPC in town to ask if they've seen a random elf. It's not compelling in the slightest, and it doesn't make me care when we enter the protag's dream sequence. I wish the developer success in their future endeavours, but I cannot recommend this.

well it's cheap it's easy and it's free some more honest review would be its really slow and a lot to read the sound effects were nice and the fights were fun all in all its not a game for everyone but its free so give it a try if you want to
