Down below, the enemy sits unaware while a sleek, metallic creature slices through the dark. No blips show on the radar, no sign is given. Then, an instant, the roar of exploding ordnance shatters the night, demolishing targets, sending troops and pilots scrambling.

Bought this in a bundle with a bunch of other Microprose games and just like most of them this one is super old and incredibly hard to get into. Is it just difficult in general? Well I don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ know I couldn't get the plane off of the ground. The manual says press shift and + together to raise your engine power and I do that and ♥♥♥♥ all happens. I did get the plane in the air before but I don't remember how I did it. If the manual is giving me the wrong button combination then well idk what to do. +I do like how old games look and sound. This one has that going for it. -I don't remember how to get the plane in the air and the buttons in the manual don't do anything. Just like most of these older games its incredibly hard to know what you're doing, you can't easily access any settings to change stuff i don't even know if a settings menu exists.
Great game for endless random missions. No story, no campaign, no scripting or replaying the same mission over and over. Failing is fine but there is no retrying or re-loading on death either. Fly until you die rogue-like? Highly recommend playing with the weirdly arranged keyboard commands externally mapped to a controller instead. That's including the DOSBox speedup turbo button too (otherwise missions can take up to an hour of boring flying)! Unfortunately, the Steam version has some digital voice/sound issue that can crash the game. This is fixed in the GoG version (which just mutes these sounds, lol). Also, it's rather lame that everything takes just 1 hit. A small missile can take out a big building or ship just as well as any big bomb.
Amo esse jogo da minha adolescência!
This was one of my favorite games as a kid. I was happy to find it on Steam, brings back the nostalgia. I had to run the Dosbox daum version for it to work properly on my computer.
I've been playing it on and off again for over 32 years!
Loved this game as an MSc student, great to play it again.
Jogava esse jogo quando criança, nos anos 90. Até hj esse jogo é bem divertido, incrível.
This old-school, like me.
Combat Flight Sim from the early 90s that accomplished more from 56 mbs than a terabyte of DCS will ever achieve.
Love this game .
