There's no cohesion in the storyline or the environments, you're going along a linear path and fighting some of the worst AI I've even encountered that just run at you in a straight line. And you really have no idea why you're fighting random enemy. It's just like things have been thrown together for the sake of it. It's pretty terrible. The environments don't make alot sense either, it's bits and pieces of buildings connected up. You're going from one building to the next via a flying platform or zip-lines for no obvious reason. There's nothing in any of the these sections other than to get on to the next bland looking set of rooms and corridors. The developers were actively listening to the beta players on Discord, but really they didn't improve gameplay that was bad in the beta, and now bad in early access. This is a game I can't imagine is likely to improve through early access since it's just really boring, poorly thrown together, bland and looks terrible. I own over 200 VR games and this one ranks amonst the worst VR games I've played. Charging for this is an insult, even it was free I wouldn't recommend.
I really wanted this game to do well, but combat is just meh, and the strip club is just some afterthought thrown in there.
I was asked to review this game in Beta but I didnt get a response to my review or a thankyou. Long story short its overpriced for a free game. But if you would like more detail Ill post the review I sent the devs. Im not writing anymore about it as this game has already eaten too much of my time. This is just a warning for potential players. Ok, so I’ve played through as much as I’m willing to do for free. In honesty its hard to tell whether some things are bugs or just poor design but I’ve tried to separate them. The biggest problem I found was the lack of immersion. I would suggest tweaking the movement speed in the parkour areas. I love the concept but it doesn’t feel real, more like your grabbing the background and sliding it around like a painting you have just drawn, rather than pulling yourself across a course. The zip line and transports are a nice transition between lvs but done poorly. The main problem I think is the acceleration and deceleration. You could even add a slight sag in the zip line to make it feel more real. The tilting transports don’t work because you are standing on them and not tilting yourself. What you need to do is tilt the background to give the feeling that you are on the transport. There is no background or explanation to why you are there, which I’m sure will be put in later but I wanted to include it in my summary anyway. The AI is horrible. Enemies will run up to you but if you are on a platform they will just stop and allow you to do whatever you like with them, they have no problem-solving skills. Im not sure if this is a bug but the teleport system will allow you to jump multiple lvs up platforms instead of using the allocated walkway. This may be a designed feature but it also allows you to miss large sections of the game like your first gun pickup. The teleport system has many problems. It is frustrating that it doesn’t indicate an invalid location. Instead the screen dims like you are about to teleport but you stay where you are. It also will not let you teleport directly next to the object you need. Which is fine for room scale but not for seated standing play. Being shot at while you are trying to figure out the gun is also a problem. I would suggest letting the player get used to the weapons before putting them into combat. A feature to reholster your weapon would also be nice instead of just dropping it on the floor then having it spawn in your holster. The enemies don’t respond to being shot, it is hard to know if you are actually hitting them, especially as they take so many shots to be put down. I would recommend animations that show them reacting ands possibly reduce their accuracy so that not every shot is aimed directly at your head. This will give the game more realism. The dodging system also needs tweaking as you still get hit even after moving out of the way. Possibly introducing a shield on your wrist as an alternative to dodging may help. The gun feels all wrong as well. It points in an unnatural direction making it hard to aim. It feels more like you are aiming a wand. There is no immersion when you fire it either. It doesn’t make you powerful. Maybe a better sound effect or controller vibration would help. Well that should be enough for you to go on with for now, let me know if you get it working properly and I’ll try again. Regards Skarred
나오는 대부분의 EA(Early Access)들이 다 그러니까요.
Update chapter 2 video below: My hope is that the game continues to get better as I go. I am playing on easy on purpose so it is kind of a breeze to get through right now but it has difficulty settings. Graphics are good. Nice models in the game as you can see in the video but in the VR HMD they look way better. My rating stays the same for now. Still seems generic except the bosses. Ai is not very smart but I am enjoying the environment in VR which is still nice to go through and also following the simple story. First review: A mix of a action shooter, fighter, light interactive "adventure" game that is on the arcadish side. Therefore, it does feel generic and unrevolutionary but to be honest I only went through the tutorial and chapter 1 so far so don't know yet what the rest of the game has to offer. The graphics in the game with a VIVE Pro are good but some parts and areas were slightly blurry and too dark for my taste. There could be some optimizations done there, hopefully. The weapons are easy to use and they have to be unlocked as you go along. There is no manual reload as far as I could tell. Locomotion includes: ice skating and teleportation and ther is snap turning for those who want to sit down and play. There are bosses in the game to fight which would appeal to some. Bosses are something I don't care for in games usually but in VR room scale I think it is the perfect fit since you have more control over what you are doing and the approach you can use to take to take them down. This is obviously a game that is by an Indie developer so I won't be too critical in my review. If this was a desktop game I would probably pass it up but VR takes things to a whole other level as most VR gamers will tell you. In that respect these kinds of non AAA games work out better. But that is my opinion. We all want Fallout 4 VR, Skyrim VR and Dead Effect 2 VR type quality but that is just not gonna happen in this game space too often. Indie is what we have to count on bringing us VR games. You have to be more forgiving. There is also easy and hard mode to select from. My video below was on easy so I could just get through my first gameplay without too much time wasted. The price point of the game is within most people's budget so I think it is good although I would say this game is a must try on a sale. I'll try to add some more video play as my health permits. My rating after playing chapter one is a 5/10 cautionary recommend. It was something to play and be entertained by but nothing revolutionary. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1584054394 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1589435386 Disclaimer: Key provided by the developer for feedback and review purposes. I'll admit the boobs brought me in, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with this game. I tried to wait for it to go on sale to try it; unfortunately it doesn't go on sale, so if you want to give it a try you'll have to fork over the $25. The game only lasts about an hour and a half, or thats about what I got out of it. It actually has a really neat storyline that is told through "audio logs". The bosses were cool and fighting them felt fun. The VR components of this game were excellent, with swinging on ladders to pulling out guns are shooting someone down. I had one crash about an hour in, but other than that performance was great. The strip club was... okay, i guess. Definitely not the selling point of the game, but it wasn't the worst piece of VR porn I've encountered. The negatives are mostly in the shortness of the game. Gameplay and combat was fun, if a little lacking in enemy types. The scenery is really cool, though theres a few parts (speeder bikes im looking at you) that brought on motion sickness. If this game wen't on sale for $5-$10, I'd thoroughly recommend it as the dev has the start of something great here. It just feel a little unpolished, a little like a concept of a game that costs way too much. Id give it a solid 6/10. It wasn't bad, and I don't regret playing it. So if you're curious and looking for another VR experience, its worth looking at. Especially if it eventually ever goes on sale.
I had the opportunity to try out the game yesterday and my first impression was pretty good. There were indeed a few flaws and the game needs overall polishing, but I had fun playing it. First off, I really liked the climbing aspect of the game. Punching the melee enemies and sending them flying was also very fun. I like how the health pickups are cute little cupcakes. I also like how, while I was shooting the enemies the surroundings would break and fall apart. The golden weapons were cool and the story was presented in a way that I was able to choose if I listen to it or just shoot everything in my path. The one thing that infuriates me is how the buttons of the elevators can be pressed by accident. I get on the elevator and turn around and all of a sudden it shoots me up without me expecting it. Overall I think the game is fun, although I didn’t even finish it and I’m looking forward to seeing the future updates.
FlipFlop’s Guide to The Galaxy Notes My review is scattered around below each category and it’s the reason so you can breakdown the game and see if you’ll like it If you're going to read anything in this make it the Final Verdict at the bottom I rate Steam game by categories 1-5, 1 being the worst, 3 being average and 5 being excellent and put an “X" next to the chosen choice and a “V” marks an exception (like a VR game might not have the best movement to prevent sickness or an early access game might not have all the bugs squashed) Some categories have a Not Available which will take off 5 points from the total score. I allow comments so you can voice if you agree or disagree with my ratings or call me out on my math error that I probably made in the final score Overall Gameplay -5)I can play it over, and over, and over, and over, and over. And that’s what I did -4)Was really fun had replay value and/or postgame. -3)The game was ok, fun by one play through. X-2)I’d recommend if you like Netflix Originals -1)Not even my cat wanted my computer with this on Score: 2/5 Reason: This games OK at best it's a little fun at first but gets super repetitive Movement -5)Screw walking I want my wall climbing, rocket powered, flying, something else cool, spider tank. -4)Movement is fun and unique but can get a little boring/tedious at times. -3)I can walk with a few movement types like vehicles or equipment or ridiculous superpower. X-2)I walked from A to B. Whoopee. -1)I’d rather not even move; mainly because I can't walk without falling through the floor and being consumed by the dark void Score: 2/5 Reason: Theres really only walking and sure there's ziplines and hoverbikes and it's just gone from A to B in a semi-straight line Story -5)Tell me this tale again Grandpa -4)Good character arcs, good exposition(if any), didn’t look like you tried too hard, came out naturally, but there where a few plot holes -3)Good characters but watch your step don’t hurt yourself by falling in some shallow plot holes -2)Full of plot holes, characters have no development, and I just want to forget this -1)spoilers: a dude did things, bad guys died, stuff happened, the end N\A- X- -2 Score: -2/5 Reason: Yes I gave it a negative There's no story and the "story" that is there is just a backstory on consoles. If the consoles weren't so easy to miss I would give this a positive score Difficulty (AI/Matchmaking) -5)It’s hard but not impossible, and easy but not a breeze; everything’s equal *snap* -4)Mostly good matchups just a few bad ones but mostly balanced -3)Pretty good, could be better but at least I’m not being matched with salty, 500 ping players -2)Everything’s a hit or miss, good and bad matches have no consistencies when it comes to what players/AI smarts are. X-1)Wait, I didn’t realize this was Dark Souls -N/A Score: 1/5 Reason: The AI is either way to hard our way to easy. There's 2 melee dudes (punchy dude and sword chick) and a sniper whose bullets slow down when bullets get near (prob some super soldier thing) User Interface (UI) -5)The UI is highly customizable and everything’s well placed like map, currency, health, etc, isn’t too in my face during gameplay. The UI like menus is easy to follow and fits the games theme X-4)UI during gameplay is a little forced but I can still see. Menu UI is still easy to follow -3)Both in game and menu UIs are easy enough to figure out but just a little confusing -2)Both in game and menu UI are hard to follow and/or do not follow the theme -1)”Go big or go home”, I prefer to see both my game and a UI, not one or the other. Score: 4/5 Reason: The UI is the saving grace of this game. It fits in to the "low-tech, future, distopia theme" (kinda) It's probably the lack of a menu that gives it it's score Optimization (how well it runs) X-5) Running at high even my low end toasters got at least 60 breads per second -4)Only frame drops when large events happen at once -3)Frames are great but their not amazing even adjusting settings to your system. -2)I sure do love Minecraft StopMotion videos... oh wait this is a video game -1)see Steam refund button for details Score: 5/5 Reason: Now I'm not too smart with computers but either this games really optimized or nothings really happening Bugs -5) No bugeroos and the only ones present were cockroaches; and you can't kill cockroaches -4)Few bugs just had to get the flyswatter X-3)Bugs here and there but nothing that can't be fixed -2) Lots of bugs, we're gonna need a bigger boot -1)ಠ_ಠ Score: 3/5 Reason: Theres some bugs (like the shot gun never going above 5 heat cuz it's ROF is slower than the cool down) Graphics -5)”Picasso was here” might was well be written everywhere -4)stunning visuals and detail but a few hiccups here and there but the game is beautiful -3)Graphics are ok better than what the average person can do. Time went into them but the outcome wasn’t the best -2)graphic developer, “just one more beer before I start working, I’ve only had 12” X-1)Toddlers got hold of Microsoft Paint, and not the good one, the one that came free with Windows XP Score: 1/5 Reason: I'm not very motion sick but this game, I sh** you not, threw up so many times and you can use other colors that aren't grey, dark blue, and dark red Sound Design -5)I want to hear ALL THE THINGS. -4)3D audio is present with only a few audio mishaps most of which are probably my fault -3)Audio is good but 3D audio isn’t present X-2)Audio is poor -1)fksvhekxfjxrlfdsyh Score: 2/5 Reason: The audio could use some work out I there was effort Music -5)Music, or at times a lack of if it, was always appropriate, setting the perfect mood. Now please excuse me as I want to go buy the soundtrack. -4)Music was mostly appropriate and rarely felt forced or out of place X-3)Music was mostly appropriate but a little more time could of gone into it -2)Music was rarely good/appropriate to the current theme -1)Pot_Falling_Down_Stars.MIDI Score: 3/5 Reason: I feel like the music reflects badass super-soldier but not the distopian theme Total: 21/50 Final Verdict: There's potential, but I'd wait until the game develops more This game looked decent but right now it's a strip club game that sexually identifies as a shooter but is doing horribly at hiding it. I really hope the devs start thinking with their heads and not with their junk If you found this helpful well fortunately there's a button for that, if not there's also a button for that, and if for some reason funny guess what, there's a button Flop on -°•·.SeñorFlipFlop
