Reviews
If you played Warhammer Rogue Trader before then you will love this game the story is very good and you get to choose a lot of choices for the lore and its impact upcoming event, the combat is addicted for me the only downside I found is you cant refund your skill which is very disappointed for this type of game so you will stick to it for the rest of the game, I wish Expeditions series get more attention and Im very looking for the next Expeditions game
As a squad based TBS game a la XCOM and other Expeditions games, this one is pretty solid. However, it's very unforgiving later in the game if you're not aware of the kinds of missions you'll have to engage in and if you deploy the "wrong people" to the wrong locations. The "army mechanic" of handling NPCs is a nice touch, but still very small scale compared to what would've been historical. Overall a decent game, but be ready to savescum a bit especially on harder difficulties.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Generally a fun game but if you select Iron Man mode and you take one of these pacifications missions that you can not win it's game over.

Very good. -Long campaign (maybe a bit too long in the latter half). -They managed to make us use more characters than a select few without devolving into annoying slogs. -The battles are really good. Especially those at the end of each milestone. The sieges are epic. -There is a really nice feeling of progression in the strength of our characters (and not the quite common problem of our characters getting a 20% damage upgrade only to fight enemies with 50% more health too often seen in other turn-based games...) -And, most importantly, choices in both dialogs and gameplay that matters. Sure, the overall main story doesn't change except the large chapter, but there are some differences we do see here and there, like a recurring character who can be killed early, some additional quests linked to previous decisions, a few variatiosn in battles, etc.
E:R is a mish-mash of a variety of game styles: third-person RPG, hex-based tactical battler, pseudo open-world exploration, and city-builder. You take on the role of a Roman general leading a party comprised of fixed story-based characters as well as generic random characters you recruit. You switch back-and-forth from the game's various modes as you follow the story-driven campaign. The following observations are from my experiences through Act 1 (after which I quit). Pros: ++ The tactical battles are OK, noting that I am biased towards either fantasy games or space/future games. Specifically, tactical games in historical settings aren't really my thing. + Story seemed OK. + Inventory was easy to keep track off, as junk equipment and drops (which was most everything) could be easily scrapped for parts. Cons: -- I was pretty confused as to what to what I was supposed to be doing for quite some time. Sometimes I was the general on the hex-based battlefield. Sometimes I was walking around a town talking to people to drive the story forward. Sometimes I was on the overworld map, collecting resources. And sometimes I was acting on behalf of "legion" tasked with conquering a region. I eventually mostly figured out the system, but I was frustrated by what was happening for far too long. -- The minigame by which your legion takes over another region grew boring quickly. -- Some missions required you to arbitrarily pick one of your core team and five randos. This seemed pointless to me. -- There were only four classes (and of course no magic or cool space stuff). In addition, the unique characters are pretty much the same as the randos you recruit. - The base building wasn't very interesting. - I disliked needing to walk around and loot corpses or open boxes in the third-person areas. Its not like they were secrets or hard to find, the process was really just annoying. In a game where the tactics should be center-stage, just give me the rewards at the end of the stage. Summary: This game isn't terrible by any means, it just didn't grab me. The tactical fights were the best part and they were only just OK. The rest of the game seemed tedious to me. I gave it through to the end of Act 1 and decided it was enough already. Overall: 5.0/10
Fairly decent tRPG, but hidden under a shameful and disrespectful amount of historical revisionism.
It´s a great game, polished, no bugs, no crashes, well finished. The combat is superb. I was always looking forward to the next fight. The only downside is the excesive number of items for customization, which can be overwhelming considering that you have to equip about a dozen people in your party. The game includes an auto-equip function, but who wants to use that? The choices make you think, and the endings are quite satisfactory. For the next game I would ask the devs to improve the camera and the zoom out. Let me tell you again: great game!
