Great story, great gameplay, great time!
God..where else can you turn-based in ancient Rome? Love all the expeditions, this is the best one so far! Just wish some of those great Mod gremlins worked their magic on this one.
Caeso broke his leg by slipping in a river 10/10
I really was surprised how much I liked it. Rome is a perfect setting for a Tactical game. I wish for Mods and more DLC and a character editor and maybe a level designer. I will replay it and probably buy Viking and Samurai. The pacification mechanic can get tedious so disable it, and crafting can be onerous, but combat is fun and it has enough twists to keep a player guessing. I liked this ancient Roman era RPG, it is all the better since it is alternate history but populated with all kinds of familiar frenemies.
so bored in legend war. 比上一代不知道差了哪里去了,双轨制很繁琐,军团战都不舍得做ppt。 ui 也很丑,画面一股塑料味
Are your hands chaffed from going through the pockets of the dead? Do you fear the prick of an assassin's poison barb as you rummage through the belongings of vanquished foe number 342 of the day? Does going through your backpack, organizing it, then dumping it on the ground again to reorganize it once again feel like work because you are a micro-managing, neurotic, obsessive compulsive fighter/magic-user/ranger? Then Expeditions has the RPG solution FOR YOU! ***big finger points. After tactically outmaneouvering your enemy using your superior soldierly skills, thrust your Pilum through the guts of your enemy, take the mission objective, then maybe have a parlay with some arrogant c*u*n*t from Rome or perhaps a mysterious sexy NPC you may let join the party. No muss, no fuss just Roman skullduggery and honor and lots of warm feelings when acheivements feed you grapes.
While gameplay might be polished a little bit, maybe, the story, the characters, voice acting and historical atmosphere/vibe is just top 10/10. To the very end you second guessing yourself what are enemies plotting and what they are going to do. If you like good story or like history, especially Rome history - must have!
(note, I did not play with the gladiator DLC since people online said it ruins the game) TLDR try the demo , if you like the gameplay and the setting you will love it the best historical RPG ever made , it takes its liberties , and some decisions feel unfinished. The story feels less like a narative and more like your reading a historical account and I love it. Not to say the story isn't great, you just know where its going. But its done very well. its really the best game made about Rome, if you enjoy the late republic and RPGs you will love it. check the demo out at least. 9.5/10 also I love the siege maps even if they are a bit jank and slow. set combat speed to x2 I also did enjoy adopting the historically accurate stray cat girl...
This game is awesome. X-com like combat but set in Rome. Could be improved as the siege battles can drag and the land battles are extremely simple but overall this surprised me and I loved it!
