Update: Instead of responding and working on the game, the developer revoked my key. Anyway, the game might not be available for much longer due to assets from other games. The game is a weird mix of assets from elsewhere, but the biggest culprit are empty stages and no map. At its core, the game combines action and metroidvania components. You find yourself on a map with obstacles that cannot be conquered with your basic abilities. By exploring the map, you obtain skills such as double leap and slide, which allow you to push further. The game starts encouraging, but it quickly ruins everything with bad design. While there is a small mini-map in the lower corner, you don’t have a full map that would fill out as you progress through the game. This is a problem because the game is made of filler content that doesn’t add anything. This shows up in the form of long and empty stretches that just waste your time. Also, you have no way of knowing if you found every secret. Even if you find a key for a locked door somewhere behind, you won’t even remember where it is. Your character carries a sword and a gun with limited ammunition. The sword is not particularly useful because it has limited reach and some enemies are resistant to its attacks. You can even jump on some, but this is risky because you never know if the enemy will attack you back. The things enemies drop are money, health, and ammo. Since they also respawn as you go away, you can use this to grind for stuff. The map is littered with money and secret locations that conceal a permanent upgrade. You can find a variety of stuff, such as the ability to see the enemy's health bar or a larger bag to carry more apples. At first, your hero can only take three hits, so keep an eye on that. The game uses a life system; you respawn right on the spot you die. However, once all lives are used, you will have to restart from the last save point. Coins are used to improve the attack power of all weapons or buy some other goodies. To prevent you from grinding and buying the best stuff right away, the purchases are locked behind levels. If you don’t find the upgrade for the next level, you won’t be able to buy new stuff. The big elephant in the room are the game’s borrowed assets. The main character, for example, will be familiar to everyone who has played a popular run-and-gun game. Most of it is inconsistent with the general appearance, since you will continually notice parts that don't match. You will see one enemy in one style and another in an entirely another one. There are also a number of strange bits poking out that cause your character to become stuck.
This game reminded me a lot of the time I played Super Nintendo in 1993, it made me remember those nostalgic plataform games from that time. It starts a little slowly and teaches you how to play in an intuitive way, because without learning a certain function of the game, you won't be able to progress to new places. The game has many coins scattered around the scenes, and when you kill enemies they drop coins, ammunition, food, one time it even dropped 1 life. I found the shooting a little slow, but I saw that you can increase its speed as you progress by purchasing from the game's store. The coins you pick up throughout the scene are to be spent in these stores, to recharge life or buy information from what I saw. I saw that you also have the freedom to go anywhere, there are many paths to explore, it's like an open world without forcing you to follow a logical path, there's always something hidden in these places. The background music is very pleasant. the player starts the game with 5 lives and can only receive 3 damage per life, but from what I saw you can increase the damage resistance found in a kind of heart on the map, I found it a little difficult at the beginning but once you get the hang of it you will although. There is also the option to save the game, when you die you will return to the point where you saved in the same way you were with your lives.
